Twitters purchase was a leveraged buyout meaning it was all financed with debt.

A third of the loans came from banks, more came from private investors like Larry Elison and Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

This is also why its 100% not possible for X to ever make any kind of profit. It has all the operating costs of Twitter plus 44 billion in debt repayments with interest. No matter how many engineers are fired and bills go unpaid it will never equal 44 billion plus interest.

Banks are also going to want to get those loans off their balance sheet so they will sell them to whoever the fuck will buy.

I think he may be desperate to try and increase monetization by attempting to make the site into every other one all at once. Thinking about it would probably also go with his "X everything app" plan.
