He could easily have bribed someone to give him his passport back and look the other way while he did a runner. Despite what the Twitter shills like to believe, Ukraine is still an insanely corrupt post-Soviet country that far more resembles Russia in oversight and accountability than it does most EU countries, and that nine grand he had stashed at his house is more than the average annual salary there. Even Null entered the country without any documents beside his passport by basically bribing a border official, if I'm remembering correctly.

With the amount of gypsies we have here, there is a chance he might get stabbed to death if he chooses to go to a city like Miskolc or Budapest. From what I understand, he has Daddy's money. His father is rich and keeps his son afloat. The tug boat goes far in Eastern Europe, where the exchange rate is good and cost of living is low. Although the main reason he went to Ukraine was for women not cost of living.
I agree, he wants to write a book and sell the movie rights. That's been the plan since Russia invaded and he woke up one day in a war zone. That's why he stayed, determined to make himself as much of the Ukraine War story as the war itself.
He won't come here, cause the state is too friendly to the US and NATO and inimical to Russia, just like with Poland. Hungary is the only state in the EU that's playing this game. Not the first time they choose their allies... weirdly.

Yeah that's a fair point. I guess the only other option was Transnistria which would be easier to sneak into and more sympathetic, but it's also dirt poor and shit. The thing that still gets me is that it's not an easy drive from over the Carpathian Mountains, I know there are roads but not many of them and if I were Ukraine I would just have checkpoints on those 4 roads no one can go around. Looking on google maps it's like a 16 hour drive too. I'd really like to know where he was when he took that picture.
