Scleritis I believe. He has an auto immune condition where his immune system is attacking his eyeballs. It's exacerbated by stress.
Basically his immune system knows the stress is bad for him, and reading our shitposts is the thing that stresses him the most, so it's attacking his eyes so he can't read things that make him seethe.
