Viv, sweetie, take my advice here:

SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Get off of Twitter and stop constantly whining about people not liking your show. Grow the fuck up. I swear, she is really falling apart. I don't know how she'll be able to handle the criticism of Hazbin when it comes out.

Thanks bruv, I was thinking about posting those exchanges I saw earlier today, but you saved me the trouble.

Much of it comes from this quote retweet Twitter thread, both with BraxtonJs and geekytheatrekid (lol, what a half-assed digital redaction), and there's more besides within. It's kind of difficult to parse through because it's not just a linear conversation, but rather branching at various individual tweets, even when it's just talk between two people.

To also remark on Viv's original complaint, if she doesn't like her work being called "fanfic", then how about "yaoi", "BL", or "fujo"? They all get across the same point: a fetishistic female-oriented view of male homosexuality that some progressive types would also call homophobic. Though "fanfic" also implies amateurish quality. These thoughts occurred to me even before seeing those extended exchanges from over the past day.

I saw all the debating Viv did earlier and was considering sharing it myself but yeah, shit's embarrassing. The amount of denial she goes through and the excuses she throws out are insane. Also her claim that there's plenty of good fanfiction out there too is such a weak counter. No shit, the point is that there's just as many (if not more) bad ones filled with tired tropes and gay fetishization. BraxtonJs is completely right.

"But it's not just queer stories-"

Woman, you're 30. Shut the fuck up.

On the positive side, we might be seeing Fizz again sooner than I thought if the clown emoji next to 206 is any indication. That or a general circus-focused episode. Either is good with me.

Helluva Boss having a gay couple isn't the issue.

The issue is that the gay couple isn't that interesting, or very well written, and takes up way more of the spotlight than what was initially advertised so instead of the show being an animated adult comedy about demonic hitmen that just happens to have a gay couple in it, it's actually an adult animated gay musical that just occasionally has comedic moments with demonic hitmen.

Speaking of Lackadaisy, apparently there was some drama between the two. After the season 1 teaser, people started comparing Lackadaisy to Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. There were some people that pointed out that Spindlehorse and Viv support Lackadaisy and that this isn't a competition. Viv backs this up by posting this tweet.

Apparently one of the crew members on Lackadiasy posted a passive aggressive comment about how there was no direct link to the support page for people to donate in the post. They immediately deleted their comment once they received backlash, but Viv still saw it. She made a tweet in response which she then deleted as well.

Lesson to be learned from this: Twitter is fucking stupid and too many people live their lives through it.

I was reading the Tumblr page reacting this that dumbass post about "HELLUVA good things", and saw some other things. View attachment 5243506If this is true, it explains a looot of things, like how someone with Viv's general temperament and immaturity was able to not only get into the industry, but be able to pitch a "demonic" show to a bunch of suits and get it greenlit, no matter how indie A24 apparently is.
With these two revelations (if the latter turns out to be true, can any Kiwi sleuths get on that?) it makes it funnier that she spent 5k she could've used to pay her animators that have been alleging poor pay (and I don't mean Erin Frost, that college student can suck my BBC).

I mean if you're going to make lavish financial decisions at least don't do it while people are on YOUR payroll - or rather, don't advertise that you did

pressed the X button so hard I broke my controller.

^this is actually true, but also an instace of "the pot calling the kettle black".

refer to the X button above.

translation: more fujoshit. It's all so tiresome.

Again, these two lined up together is some funny shit, what do her meatriders see in her that makes them think she's tough as rocks? (Also lmao "as a queer person")

Does anyone wanna guess that Viv does the classic internet artist thing of going to her friends: "Haha this totally doesn't effect me guyz! I'm actually laughing at how DUMB and IGNORANT these ism-phobes are! Haha laugh with me people!" Because I did that shit once and in hindsight it's ALWAYS better to just admit you dun goofed cuh.

People keep telling her to STFU but just like criticism she can't even listen to that

To no one's surprise, Viv continues to moan about people having "bad" criticism while being chronically online. She also claims that none of the leaks were final and the rest of the season 2 episode titles aren't meant to imply character returns.

Also lmao at her saying "I try but they keep coming and I'm tired" in response to being told to just ignore and block like any sane person.

Because I think a lot of the criticism of her is pure bullshit.
Even if I think a lot the hate she gets is unwarranted, the best thing to do with Twitter criticism is ignore and not engage with it. Mofos engaging in bad faith can't be dissuaded by whining on Twitter. If anything, they will only grow bolder.

SHE'S STILL ON THIS?! JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, UNPLUG AND GO TOUCH SOME GODDAMN GRASS, VIV.

Am I the only Viv simp left here?

Because I think a lot of the criticism of her is pure bullshit.

And I actually like at least some of the things she's produced recently.
I still enjoy HB (despite everything) and am cautiously optimistic for HH. And yeah, I think some people are bitching just to bitch, as the internet does. But Viv needs to learn that, if you release something to the public, even if it's absolutely perfect, it's going to get criticized. That's just how it is. If she can't handle that, she's in the wrong line of work.

This seriously gets my goat, she ADMITTED to spending up to an hour speaking to a detractor about how they're wrong in their analysis? Viv, seriously honey, if you truly think these people are "bad faith critics" WHY in the world would you engage with them as frequently as you do???

Maybe if you actually blocked and ignored them they wouldn't be as frequent as you claim! And acting like people criticising the gay relationship is conflating "queer=cringe" is some strawman alright.

:powerlevel: I'm bisexual, I've dated/shown interest in people of my own sex multiple times and I've even written my own gay fanfiction, so when I see hack-fraud-artists like her try to use the "I'm bisexual and don't take kindly to people wrongly criticising my queer characters" it just comes off as desperate and needlessly whiny.:powerlevel:

We're here to watch her show and have a good time, when we don't get that good time she promised with the pilot (that didn't indicate it'd devolve into a telenovela) we talk. At this point I'm certain she's becoming a cult-of-personality where anything she says is to keep fans IN and not to actually change critics' minds.

Despite what I said I'm still cautiously optimistic. She can still change things around if she really wanted to tell a good story, and especially with HH not being out yet, who knows, maybe we'll all be proven wrong.

This and the work would actually improve if she took some of the criticism, even bad faith criticism, to heart and did something with it.

You can't just entirely reject all criticism. It's like stand-up comedy. At some point, if the audience isn't laughing, the problem is you.

Maybe the audience is a bunch of dicks. Doesn't matter. Your job is to make them laugh.

As I've said before, I don't hate her - or Helluva despite being increasingly disappointed with season 2 - and hope Hazbin will be better, but her childishness and paper-thin skin is pathetic for a grown woman responsible for two popular shows. She seriously either needs to stop being on Twitter so much and/or get a PR team because this is extremely unprofessional behavior. Unless she wants to be a lolcow.

Does Viv get a lot of bullshit and legit bad criticism of her shows? Absolutely. I don't think she's the demon (no pun intended) her haters so desperately want her to be. But she doesn't handle constructive criticism well either, and for someone as talented as she is, it's irritating to see her act so stupid.
