1) There was nothing about the marketing that gave away the fact that it was going to be woke trash and about RAHRAH PATRIARCHY
Ok, but why does anyone trust big media marketing? Maybe it's because I assume all movies are shit these days that I'm not surprised, but I also have no desire to see a movie upon release as there's not benefit for being the "first post" of consoooming. It's really not that hard to wait for reviews.

They got taken in by the memes and the fact that there was zero marketing or word around this movie that it was gonna be woke in any way.

It’s actually quite masterful that they managed to do that

Bro have you even been paying the slightest bit of attention in the last idk 6 or 7 decades?
Edit: Let me clarify further if you expected a movie about Barbie to be anything other than leftist feminist trash you might be interested in beachfront property in Las Vegas.

When I saw the marketing I expected it to be a good movie because it was going to do something fun with the concept, but I also didn't go out of my way to see it, so day one of release I knew not to bother. People have rewatched the trailer on streams and noticed there were signs though of the woke shit, so it's probably really bad if they couldn't even cut it out completely.

I think my problem with it is just that the amount of production value people like Ben are putting into criticizing it is only benefiting it.

You retarded nigga, usualy they scream that shit proud and loud and here they went out of their way to make sure it wasn’t obvious
It’s a movie about Barbie in current year +8 or 9 or whatever the fuck we are on now. You’re retarded.
Edit: they made the marketin seem apolitical just like they’ve always done how could I get fooled again???

It really is. But honestly, only idiots could have fallen for it.

I've played enough video games to know that I need to wait and see reviews of the product before buying it.

Unfortunately I can't quote thanks to site shitting itself @Retink Retunk It absolutely shouldn't be a surprise that a Barbie movie is leftist trash because the hope for many children's IPs is to pump the sales of kid's merch. The adults are not buying the merch for themselves, but rather the kids are the ones pestering and it is not an unsafe bet to say kids are not more open to any trash.

Many parents overlook all kinds of horrible messaging, themes and increasingly adult material in toys and media just to satisfy a child's whim or because they worry their child will be the odd one out if they don't cave. It is probably evident in the sales of their dolls to Mattel. (Ethnic dolls, etc) Some do still collect Barbie as a historical marker of sorts for pop culture and the passage of holidays.

It is all rather easy to say it is all just about promoting propaganda, but the pushing of corporate woke at least has as much to do with a marketing and profit motive. They are not doing it out of the commie kindness of their hearts. It's about hitting a wave and riding it. They don't give a fuck about the kids, but getting their attention is required to maintain power and status in a highly competitive industry. The fact these corporations even deem to pretend to be moral arbiters should be comical. Edit: That said, the younger employees graduating from elite lefty degree mills are leveraging their greed for an increased power within these companies. The shareholders don't care either as long as they see a boost.

I'll say that anyone who went into this move not expecting some sort of feminist message is a boy who never played with/paid attention to Barbies or is a bit of a moron. Barbie is one of the most feminist IPs I can think of. That said, I thought it would be more of a "women can do anything they set their mind to" message rather than a "the patriarchy makes women second-class citizens" message. One character said something about how no one hates women more than other women and I really, really wish the movie had been about that instead. I thought the sets and costumes were nice, it had some good gags, had some good nostalgia bait/nods for women who grew up with Barbies, but the message was muddled and mean-spirited.

Ben opens by saying Barbie will tank on the second week, lmao as it's on track to hit $1 billion globally as of today. Right out of the gate Ben has a fundamental misunderstanding of who this movie is meant for. It's meant for millennial women who grew up with Barbies and have become bitter feminists who hate men. It's PG-13. The film ends with the Barbies putting the Kens firmly back under their bootheels and Stereotypical Barbie visiting the gyno. It's not a kid's film. Sure, people took their kids to see it. They also took their kids to see Oppenheimer. Nostalgia bait is in right now and Barbie falls firmly into that category. I didn't think Barbie would be a movie someone could be too stupid to get but Ben is proving me wrong.

He then says all the gags revolve around Barbie living in her Barbie world (no morning breath, no water in the shower, etc.). For someone who rails on about facts and logic, this is a stupid misrepresentation. The movie stops being about "lol look she's living a doll life" about 10 minutes in.

I had to tap out when Ben mocked the mere concept of men catcalling women and demanding a smile. Is Barbie's harrassment hammed up for comedic effect? Yes. Did men constantly demand that I smile at my old customer service job? Also yes.

Ben Shapiro is literally too stupid for this movie. Wow.

My wife says strange men regularly tell her to smile, both when she’s working and when they randomly speak to her when she’s shopping at the supermarket etc. That part of Ben’s “analysis” (if he claimed that doesn’t happen) is a load of bullshit. Why a man would demand a smile from a woman he doesn’t know is beyond me.

I'm a guy who is routinely told he needs to smile more and I hate it, I empathize and agree greatly with the women folk on this. Any guy demanding smiles from a stranger is a prick. Maybe sometimes I don't want to smile, I'm not upset or sad I just don't need to advertise my internal contentment to the world by plastering a fake grin on my face.

Because it's annoying to see some sour-looking cunt ringing your items and the least she could do is not look like she just bit in a lemon?
You want someone on minimum wage and dealing with the general public (people who often spit on retail staff, or steal) to have to smile as well? On a shitty wage?

EDIT: She’s probably got a sour face because she saw you, Internet War fren. Have a shower and wear some deodorant.
