i was too (and why everyone was going on about how the big red/orange one is A LITERAL SHITLORD) and then a few days ago someone linked me to a clip on YouTube that shows that she's really obviously meant to represent a victim of abuse. it's only about two minutes long and pretty well done for a kids show.
so of course now she's the patron fucking saint of abuse victims everywhere according to tumblr. you would seriously think they've never seen a TV show with an allegory for abuse before, or with a main character who came from an abusive background. of course, a lot of those characters usually seem to have their shit together and have tried to move past their abuse and don't enjoy being patronized for their past, so tumblr wouldn't care anyways. the one from SU is the most important because she's a precious delicate flower child that needs to be protected uwu.
But sjws are the first ones to cry "GAS THE WHITES" whenever the situation comes. they really need to stop painting themselves as being "cinnamon rolls".
Plus, not everyone likes them and those that do are already a Snickers pie and a sleeve of Oreos away from losing their feet to diabetes.
Why do they call anything considered precious or sacred (to them) "cinnamon rolls"? .
Why do they call anything considered precious or sacred (to them) "cinnamon rolls"? Cinnamon rolls are big, fattening, sticky, covered in white goo (actually confectioner's sugar and water), and are only good to eat at breakfast. Plus, not everyone likes them and those that do are already a Snickers pie and a sleeve of Oreos away from losing their feet to diabetes.
And, let me guess: none of them knew that The Onion is satire and took it seriously.
It's just a kids show.
Except no kids actually watch it. It may as well have been written by tumblr.
Because women can't rape women, right?
Nah, it has to be successful with kids, that's the only way kids shows survive. That's also the reason why the main character is a little kid.Except no kids actually watch it. It may as well have been written by tumblr.
Oh crap, I know where this is from. It's already been discussed that the artist is cringe but the actual "All Men Are Pigs" thing comes from a joke song (the joke being that the song is sung by a drag queen).
Not just trans. Trans lesbian.
What would that even look like? Just a cow with filed down horns and a rubber udder with one spectacularly conspicuous 'nipple'?There is a bull in there wearing an artificial udder, apparently.

All These Black Characters and 0 Done Right — How Steven Universe Fails Its Black Fanbase, Part I. (Archived link)
You want to know what's really ironic? There's an entire black family in the show that she "conveniently" forgot to mention.Halfway through the hen's "Blaaaaaack black black black black black blaaaaaack" essay and christ almighty. And I thought tumblr was salty.
I can't imagine being this dedicated to pointing out how a children's cartoon is so "problematic" because it doesn't display "Black" "Correctly"
What does that even mean? They literally never point out any sort of solution to the "problems" at all. Just bitched.
Ah right. I forgot that's what they do. And ALL they do.
The only thin the amount of salt that happens tells me (and probably most young creatives) is to just not bother with diversity at all. Even among an alien race. Ever.
