It was 9K Canadian. When Salad picked her up from the airport, one of the first places they stopped was an exchange machine he had to show her how to use.

Alaa said she gave Salah 1500KD before she went to Kuwait and another 1000KD once she was there. (but may have been the other way around and I’m not going to check). So not an assumption by anyone that is was Canadian dollars.

The truth is though that she has no other choice really, because she has no credit card (absolutely not allowed in a Canadian bankruptcy) and can’t open a Kuwaiti bank account. Alaa also claimed that he set Chantal up to be able to transfer funds from her Canadian account into Salah’s Kuwait bank account once she arrived in Kuwait. Whether Alaa was being honest or not is a whole other question.

I believe that even in Canada she was using a prepaid debit/credit card, the kind where you can only use the credit function up to the limit of your savings account, and the deduction happens immediately from the savings account. Banks bought these in years ago because so many places (eg hotels/motels, medical facilities etc) would only accept credit card payments for people who, either didn’t want, or couldn’t get, credit cards.

With her bankruptcies, she would have had to hand over every credit card she had (and she would have included them all in her liabilities so the trustee knew about them), and she would not have qualified for another while the bankruptcy was still noted on her credit record. Her second bankruptcy has not been discharged yet to our knowledge, and she filed that back in the Bibi days while he was visiting Senegal, so I don’t believe she has had an actual bank credit (only) card since then.

Doubt she had a US credit card. My understanding is she would need a US address, which she's never had. Smee also wouldn't have been able to co-sign for her as a non-resident. If she had a US credit card, her grandpa might have co-signed for it, but I seriously doubt it.
