Stuff like this is why I think that Phil, when he was in his most active period, was way funnier than Chris.
A hell of a lot of what Chris did in his golden age was because trolls were egging him on. He’d probably have given up right away on things like the Liquid Chris saga and the various fake girlfriends if he wasn’t being pushed. Phil, though, did all this dumb shit 100% of his own accord.
Chris was just really easy to manipulate and it was a carrot and stick method.

It wasn’t even necessarily that she asked him to pay for anything. She told him to work more hours at WaWa if he wanted to do more Cosplay stuff because she was paying the bills already as it was and reminded him he lived there for free so she wouldn’t be paying for any more Cosplay madness.
