Well, we didn't know. How could we? He was very convincing. He even hoodwinked Null and various jannies for the longest time. In retrospect it seems pretty clear that the financial windfall Nick got from the trial streams and Depp in particular lead him to spend wildly on things that he wouldn't have been able to get otherwise, That includes the Mustang obviously, but also things like the Jamaican vacations - I don't know if his parents would be willing to foot the bill for that for obvious reasons.

Nick's Locals got filled up with people who wanted to support Nick after he got banned from YouTube.

Over time, relatively normal people in the chat got chased out by power users. While months ago it had a reputation as a place for people to thirstpost and for women (and a few men) to post lewds, that is outdated and seems to have mostly stopped. Based on the excerpts that @Himedall All-seeing Waifu posts, Nick has also dramatically reduced his participation in the chat.

There has seemingly been a drop in the quality of person who posts on Locals. I increasingly notice that the excerpts are filled with people like Still-Life posting violent screeds, current or former drug addicts talking about withdrawal or how their doctor just cut off their Xanax, or just insane people in general.

Still-Life is a frequent poster who has been banned several times by Locals for his threatening posts and keeps coming back. Though in between the threats, you get personal anecdotes like this from him:
