How are they so uneducated about the event they keep citing 24/7? Saying the allies were caught of guard from German invasion is WW2 revisionism. Allies, in particular UK (and later USA) wanted a war with the Germans. UK took steps to make sure such a war happened (as later did USA) knowing full well it would cause another world war. The only “caught of guard” moment was that they expected another WW1 (as did Hitler’s generals) and were not prepared for a change in fighting (which wouldn’t have happened and Germans would have lost much sooner if Hitler didn’t overrule his generals on planning for invasion of France). British keep coping about their poor performance in the war. Maybe they should have gotten their army ready for actual fighting before 1944. British themselves admit that they were losing manpower on levels identical to World fucking War 1

WTF. Britain could have gone to war over the Sudetenland in 1938, if that were the case. Saying Chamberlain was a warmongerer is a hell of a hot take.

He wasn't, but his staff were. Ever wonder why Churchill was so fond of some of them? Regardless, as Britain saw German power rising, they feared that they would be left behind. Lord Halifax, then secretary of state to UK, wanted and encouraged war with Germany, using Poland as an excuse. He was the man who convinced Chamberlain to offer the guarantee to Poland, offer support to France, and issued an ultimatum to Germany. He quite simply explains that the guarantee to Poland was never about peace, it was about Anglo dominance. If UK was so concerned with Polish survival and freedom, one would think they would have declared war on the Soviets after their invasion, or not given them to the Soviets when they asked.

Halifax was an appeaser who realized that after Munich another war was inevitable. Absolutely nobody among the Allies actually wanted a war, and to suggest otherwise is to engage in massive revisionism of your own.
