History books by their very nature tell people what the authors want them to be told. There are only so many pages and only so many words to be had and from an educational standpoint there is only so much time for children to be taught a certain thing typically. In the best of cases this may lead to details being omitted and generalizations and in the worst of cases this makes creates lots of opportunities for bad actors to engage in the spreading of propaganda and historical revisionism.

Whoever presides over the education of the masses can interpret the past, manipulate the present and dictate the future to their benefit.

Just look at how few history books actually tell of all the things FDR did to fuck over the American economy, either out of malice or stupidity, or how MLK Jr is a saint. Historians all have their own ideological blinders, and in America, they nearly all buy into the narrative that the progressive faction in American politics has continually elevated us toward truth and justice. Unless we have a cultural struggle where the universities are purged, and the hard right takes over, the story told of this era will be of how a monstrous fascist nearly overthrew the government, but was stopped by virtuous progressives who stood in the gap, saved democracy, and protected the rights of transfolx and undocumented refugee scientists. Hunter and Burisma won't even get mentioned.

You've already seen the slavish ball tonguing that the Boomers get over their anti-war protests.

Now ramp it up for the Zoomers and Millennials who "Saved Democracy" and you'll know what you're getting.

You know they're secretly pissed they didn't get a Kent State moment out of Trump.

I don't see Biden getting a hero's edit out of history.

At best, he'll get treated like Ulysses S Grant: he was supposed to be the savior but was mired in corruption scandals involving his son and the fact that shit got WORSE with inflation kicking in and the whole "Dark Brandon" thing happening as people adopting "Let's Go Brandon" as a workaround for "Fuck You Joe Biden" due to half the country hating Biden and the whole "Dark Brandon" thing being a tone deaf bit on Biden's part as far as him playing into the hate rather than uniting the country. Combined with the clusterfuck of Afghanistan and Biden's son getting indicted and almost successfully getting away with a deal that would give him immunity on all corruption charges and (like Grant) historians portraying Biden as a fuck-up who never should have been President and Hunter as an albatross around his neck that "tainted him by association" and maybe a a line defending McCarthy saying "he kept Biden from being impeached because he knew felt that Biden would be invigorated ala Clinton".

Just to point this out, there ARE books that do point out some of the stuff you mentioned; there are publishing houses and imprints for both sides of the political aisle. For right wing stuff, you have houses like Regnery and Henry Holt, and for the left you have publishers like AK Press or Grove. It's not all doom and gloom as far as history books are considered (I should know; I read a ton of them as a daily hobby among other reasons), but I WOULD be wary of works written by college professors after the Tumblr feminist and gender studies stuff started picking up traction in the mid 2010's because they're usually very Marxist in their treating of the subjects they write about (for example, Mark Leopold uses his biography on Idi Amin to take potshots at both Trump and Churchill because muh racism and imperialism). In short, don't read anything written by a college professor from 2014 to now.

Every time I see in my notifications that JFJ quoted a post of mine, I know I've either said something really, really fucking stupid, or something dead on.

Who's Ulysses S. Grant?

Civil War Union General, 18th President, and also an inveterate alcoholic. By all accounts a phenominal military mind, but an atrocious one in civil affairs.

I’m genuinely not sure if you’re fucking with me now.
I'm serious. Blame the education system.

This is fake:

The VP would not had any ability to overturn election results.

He also wrote the seminal work that defined the American literary style and marked the break from flowery, self-indulgent prose of Victorian English writers. He died of throat cancer five days after finishing it.

Also what a fag Chutkin is, literally saying you can’t respond to a political opponent in a political campaign. This should be enough for SCOTUS to intervene.
The fact that we have to wait to we get a jury verdict in the Trump cases for SCOTUS to do anything in this situation is absurd.

Honestly it seems like in such situations as a presidant being thrown in prison and the other one having sold out the country to other countries they should be able to kind of get involved on their own. If only to stay, both sides stop this, everything is cleared, both are striken from the ballet, both parties pick again.

TO give Grant some credit, I would be a drunk two if I was commanding that bloodbath.

He is the bearded guy on the 50-dollar bill. They can't replace him yet.

Metrics Garland appointed David Weiss, the US Attorney in Delaware doing the Hunter investigation for the past five years, to be a special counsel.

This is done not to show fairness and impartiality in the corrupt DOJ but to make it now impossible for Congress to continue to investigate Hunter and connect him to Joepedo enough to impeach him (as if they needed even more proof).

I would say that Garland deserves a 9-Iron to the testicles, but not even my shitty old clubs deserve to be soiled by that crooked little goblin's crotchrot.

See, glowniggers? I'm not actually threatening anyone. Neener-neener. Come and kill me, faggots. I dare you.

This is a legitimate question, but how many of those right wing slanted books are reading material at school compared to left wing?

I studied the history of my country at school, though we don't have nigger worship or constantly talk about the lolacaust, I certainly remember how lying by omision was going full steam ahead and I wouldn't notice till years later as an adult.

You live in a dictatorship, they just haven't declared it officially as such.

Who's Ulysses S. Grant?

18th President of the United States and a super famous Civil War general for the North who among other things, oversaw the final phase of the war and the one who accepted Robert E Lee's surrender that pretty much brought the war to a close.

He was basically gangpressed into running for President after Andrew Johnson burnt every bridge he could with Congress, who wanted blood after the South's defeat. Sadly, Grant was a drunk who's drinking got worse while he was in office and being a soldier and not a politician, surrounded himself with creatures from the Washington Swamp who engaged in such corruption that had never been seen before in government before that time. To the point that Grant made it possible for the Democrats to come a hair's breathe away from reclaiming the White House when he opted not to run for a third term.

Under Grant, Reconstruction became "Radical Reconstruction" and created so much strife escalated back to the pre-Civil War era in the 1850s level. Grant fucked shit up so badly that when the GOP tried to steal the 1976 election, they had to make a corrupt bargain with the Democrats, to end all Reconstruction and withdraw all occupying Northern Troops from the South to get them to go along with the steal.

Even though he produced a self-serving autobiography to try and rehab his legacy, Grant is seen as both a failure as a President, one who shielded and protected corruption in his own party, and one who made shit more toxic in the country rather than heal it.

I am so glad I am out of the game now. Explaining to my handful of left-wing clients that this shit is playing in to Trump's hands was always such a painful experience.

Trump -wants- them to persecute him harder. Any attempt to enforce this kind of shit only makes him look better -across the board-. Every time they try to nail his coffin shut all they do is increase his support both in the unaligned category and moderate democrat categories. Nobody likes seeing an obvious political hatchet job and the more it goes on the more it turns off -democrat- voters.

A morbid part of me looks forward to seeing the sheer level of shit they will have to pull to drag Biden over the threshold if they can manage it. It would make 2020 look like the fair and strict election they claim it to be.

Grant wrote his memoirs because he was fucking broke and his kids were going to be crushed trying to deal with creditors coming for his estate after he died if he didn't find some way to make a lot of money quick. It worked

Social Security's cost-of-living increase could be only 3%: Will that be enough?

Seniors brace yourselves. You will likely be getting a 3% Social Security cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, next year, well below the 8.7% increase in benefits received this year.

they have decided to starve the seniors . Lol anyone believes inflation is just 3 per cent ?
