A morbid part of me looks forward to seeing the sheer level of shit they will have to pull to drag Biden over the threshold if they can manage it. It would make 2020 look like the fair and strict election they claim it to be.
Not as much as you think. Look at 2022, where "vote blue no matter who" led to absolutely terrible candidates like Senator Fentanylman or the insanely corrupt woman in Arizona who refused to even campaign against her opponent requiring relatively little fortification to win. Democrats could run literally anyone and thanks to the propaganda media they'll organically get 40-45% of the vote. Biden could say in his next State of the Union "hey niggers, you better get your black asses to the polls and vote Democrat" and the media will say "here's why Biden isn't actually a racist with dementia" and it will be fine for pretty much everyone.

And Trump just isn't as much of a presence as he was in 2020, since he's confined to the occasional rally and screaming boomer rants on some social media site everyone only knows because Trump uses it. He honestly sounds pretty low energy now compared to 2020, let alone 2016. The indictments are IMO just yet more persuasion for the "muh respectability" crowd to not vote Trump. I still think Trump is the best guy for the job (not hard when the only other remotely reasonable candidates is a shady Pajeet and a liberal best known for hating all vaccines), but it won't take any implausible levels of fortification to steal the election.

I am so glad I am out of the game now. Explaining to my handful of left-wing clients that this shit is playing in to Trump's hands was always such a painful experience.

Trump -wants- them to persecute him harder. Any attempt to enforce this kind of shit only makes him look better -across the board-. Every time they try to nail his coffin shut all they do is increase his support both in the unaligned category and moderate democrat categories. Nobody likes seeing an obvious political hatchet job and the more it goes on the more it turns off -democrat- voters.

Before anything, good to have you posting again.

So, my take is they will bullshit Trump out of being the Republican candidate and the supreme won't lift a finger to stop the constant witch hunting unless Mitch suddenly decides destroying Trump is not the plan anymore.

What is the sensation/expectation if Trump gets denied? Will his voter base shut up and take it up the ass or will they go ballistic?
Let me guess. On average they vote Republican compared to people on benefits who on average vote Democrat?
Same reason why suddenly Cuban wetbacks bad but Mexican border crossers good.

So they were really that delusional about the nature of the problem?

Thank god for them, I guess, that the GOP is so fucking useless at anything other than killing this country slowly. That level of self-deception really should have been easy to weaponize against them.

That's not an option nor the plan. This isn't optimism nor naivety speaking. There is simply no mechanics for them to do it, nothing they could use. The indictments of Trump aren't some fancy way to find a loophole to keep him off the ballet. That has and always will be some paranoia fueled wet dream/nightmare of the left/right. The point is two fold.

1: The powers that be sincerely believe if they just put a happy enough face on one of their stooges they can slip them past and sincerely believe that the indictments will drive support off Trump to the stooge. This is why they acted in utter shock at his poll numbers going up. But they have always doubled down on failed policy soooo....

2: Its theater for their base which has been fracturing at record speed into both infighting, silence, and even flight to the other side. By finally going after Trump they are hoping, and in some way succeeding, in reuniting the Anti-Trump vote.

18th President of the United States and a super famous Civil War general for the North who among other things, oversaw the final phase of the war and the one who accepted Robert E Lee's surrender that pretty much brought the war to a close.
A good summary but also after his disastrous time in office he tried to get into business and failed at that too. From all accounts he was a nice guy who was too trusting.

General Sherman had the right idea by refusing to even have the discussion.

They are the whitest demographic and therefore the most problematic. If we are to have gay space communism then starving white baby boomers to death is the way to go. The moment when the white population ticks one body below 50% is the ultimate progressive victory and they are doing whatever they can to accelerate that. Gives you a nice insight to how things are going to go for whites once we’re no longer the majority. The baste minorities who are supposed to save us will be conspicuously absent.

Could be, but 2020 showed me there are no consequences and 2022 showed me that republicans prefer death over MAGA, legality or rule of law means nothing if everyone just kind of rolls with it. And seeing how Dems are going all in and RINO's are acting like there is nothing to see here, I can perfectly see it happening.

Also, nothing is stopping the republican party from selecting their candidate by finger (our candidate cannot be mired in so much controversy and 2020 was the bestest election ever) and forcing Trump to go third party, which is something I'm not even sure Trump can break through.

Social Security's cost-of-living increase could be only 3%: Will that be enough?

Seniors brace yourselves. You will likely be getting a 3% Social Security cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, next year, well below the 8.7% increase in benefits received this year.

they have decided to starve the seniors . Lol anyone believes inflation is just 3 per cent ?

Social Security has to be cut, and ironically, the Democrats are the only party that can cut it without being crucified in the press.

I think it's more pragmatic than that. One of three things is going to happen:

1. Social Security taxes get massively hiked.
2. Benefits get cut.
3. The law is written so that SS is funded out of the general budget.

None of those are popular options. (3) may sound attractive at first, but it's such a massive change to the program that it turns the entire thing into a political football. Everyone pays Social Security taxes, so whichever party jacks them way up is going to lose the next election. This leaves (2). Deeply unpopular with seniors, but seniors mostly vote Republican. However, there are still plenty of Democrat-voting seniors, so your best option is to cut the program as painlessly as possible, and merely not keeping up with inflation is the easiest way to cut it without saying you're cutting it. If nobody does anything, then the day the program has no more bonds to sell, there is an instant, across-the-board, double-digit cut.

I can sympathize with that, because a morbid part of me looks forward to seeing the endgame, because it will provide a lot of smoke and cover for a lot of necessary things.

They won't do this because it would remove the only level of leverage they have on Trump right now - his party affiliation.

While they hate him, the establishment right is utterly reliant on his base, and fucking knows it.
