He has a known account on the VTuber Forum that splintered off from this thread. I assume he probably has an account here as well but he probably wouldn't out himself for opsec reasons.

Aqua's 5th anniversary was really nice, she invited 11 guests in total, including Gen2 and StartEnd. She reenacted her 5 year journey, from a lonely maid to an idol who found friends between the songs. Always a great experience to watch this autistic onion singing and dancing
I can see Yagoo's will to live slowly fading away. Some please save this man from these girls!

Rev says Desu? He's not a cow. He's just Youtuber who, like Yellow Flash, likes to report on drama within the vtuber industry. His videos have posted here several times.
 
it's been a while since I've been here lol, I've been out of the vtubing rabbithole for a while, just getting the most important stuff from FalseEyeD, but I came in once again because of the new holo gen, what are your opinions on the new girls? I personally liked Shiori and Bijou a lot, the twins didn't quite appeal to me but maybe they'll grow on me, I haven't watched a lot from Nerissa. I think at one point I was more interested in the drama than in vtubing itself lol

Bijou has easily been the one I enjoyed the most so far, I like Nerissa's streams a lot, they are very chill and she has a beautiful voice, I am waiting for the twins to get more comfortable with their new personas and see if they will drop the baby voices, their streams seems fine but I dont really like how they sound like forced voice actors, lastly I only watched 2 Shiroi streams and they really didnt grab my attention so I don't really care much about hers.

I like the twins and Bijou. Twins are cute and it's nice to see them both back and being a massive success after getting dropped by Mangagamer. They seem to have a sizable JP audience and are seemingly super fans of the JP branch so I expect they'll end up being a bridge there or just eventually go full JP. The cutesy voice is hit or miss but an improvement over the lispy ESLness of when they were GGN. Them being a constant collab and backseating each other is pretty entertaining.

Bijou is pretty entertaining, modded Undertale as part of her audition, and isn't functionally retarded so even though I wouldn't call her "good" at games by a normal standard compared to most vtubers she's excellent. She also wants to do longer streams which the EN scene seems to be desperately missing. She does sound like Finana though and that's fairly filtering.

Nerissa sings well but leans into coom and yuri content too much for me to like her in collabs. She also has incredibly horrible basic bitch white woman takes on just about everything. For me there's nothing that really sets her apart from the others and even with her singing I think IRyS generally sounds better and has the bonus of being a weirdo. Watching her move around she reminds me a lot of Calli. She's got that same hunched look a lot of the time and when she moves it looks really similar to how Calli moves around. Her schedule is in Central time instead of coastal faggot times, bonus points for that.

Shiori's talks and tangents are interesting and decent background noise. Her voice is grating and she seems to be trying to lean into spooky goth but it comes off like someone reading from a script. I hope/expect she'll either drop the goth bit later and then be a pretty good talker option. She'll still have that Funimation dub voice though that makes me want to stab an ice pick into my brain though. Her decision to take a week break right after debut was also certainly a choice.

It's nice that all of them are mostly streaming at not-shit hours instead of like 10pm at night like so many of EN have been for a while, hopefully they keep that up.

If they stay in character forever their content is going to be kid oriented idol programming. If that's your thing fine but that's the same stuff that killed kizuna ai/mirai akari.

Shiori sperging in the big leagues is cool, she deserves it after so long.

Bijou is loli crap not interested.

narissa is the normie of the group a la mori/kronii which means shes the most functional probably but also the most e-thot-y

I don't watch EN regardless so I don't care. I'll listen to music they put out though.

Speaking of people finding success through years of work. Kay started out making mugen/game maker games like 15-20 years ago on two sites I cant currently show you cause the wayback machine is down, going by the name "StickOfDoom" (named after stick fight animations) before commiting 5 straight years to an animation. Its basically just a recreation of the first episode of any shonen with terrible voice acting and embarassing writing. BUT, its got a amazingly well animated fight sequence half way through for a 1 man production. Having this on his portfolio got him his job at wayforward where he was the animation director for his first role in professional game development (river city girls) and he's worked on several real anime at this point (including naruto and SAO which he was already a huge fan of) as a result, holocure being his side project. Cool little success story there, I used to read/post on his forums and play his games/use his mugen characters so it's been neat seeing him find success doing what he enjoys rather than crying about it being too much work as a streamer like so many other animators.

Found one of his sites. This isn't either of the two I was talking about though but it has working links to some of his games. He made at least 10 though theres only 3 here.

Also found this video and this one of people using one of his mugen characters and they perfectly embody early youtube.
