Patrick Sean Tomlinson / @stealthygeek / "Torque Wheeler" / @RealAutomanic / Kempesh / Padawan v2.5 - "Conservative" sci-fi author with TDS, armed "drunk with anger management issues" and terminated parental rights, actual tough guy, obese, paid Quasi, paid thousands to be repeatedly unbanned from Twitter

Patrick, you need to get your shit together. Just eat the financial costs and write another book or whatever the fuck it is that got you famous in the first place. Constantly quarreling with people laughing on the internet is getting you nowhere fast.
He'd at least be in good company. Heinlein took up writing to pay off debts incurred after a failed run for office, and Clive Cussler pretty much spent the rest of his life cranking out potboilers after a lawsuit over the film adaptation of Sahara where he got countersued and socked with ALL the costs.

I couldn't get something else out of my head about The Ark and i'm going to harp on this a bit more, illuminate more brightly how stupid this is.
The worst part of reading The Ark summary for me is the realization that this actually had the grain of a decent idea if it was in the hands of a competent writer.

Ok its tropey and clichéd, but the bare bones idea, a murder mystery on a Generation Ship carrying the refugees of a dead Earth to a new home, could be a pretty good story if it was done right and by someone who knew what they were doing, that didn't ham fistedly shove their own wet brain political biases into a story already padded out by clumsy prose and half realized ideas.

I like early 20th Century Pulp like Clarke Ashton Smith, I don't expect my Sci Fi to be Asimov or Clarke level or Xeelee Sequence imaginative, I just want a good story in a comfy setting that draws you in and keeps you wanting to turn the page.
Pat is woefully bad at this, his writing is a slog to push through, its full of Frat House "humor" and forced "twists" you can see coming a mile off.
Like the guy retrieving the body himself, for instance, the minute he insisted on going out personally to do something a drone or someone actually experienced in carrying out EVA would have been assigned to do on a real ship, not a detective/niggerball player with absolutely "Zero" experience in either wearing a spacesuit, controlling a vehicle, or EVA, I was waiting for something to go wrong, its just paint by numbers shit, and its a shame because he has the seed of a good story, he just doesn’t have the ability to fill it out.

There's people right now in every industry you can think of making a living of just leaning on the tropes, doing the base line, and just showing up. Rick doesn't even show up. He thinks he's too good for a decent work ethic. There's this interview I read ages back about Rob Liefeld in the comic book industry. He's not a great artist and pretty much has one speed with his output but he keeps getting work because of his work ethic. He just gets shit done on time and puts it out, publishers loved him for that.

Did this guy really claim to be pulling in $30k a month? How the fuck does that work when he struggles to sell a suitcase of his novels at a book convention?
The easy answer is he's lying. Though to be honest I'd love to see whether or not he ever actually earned out on his advances from Tor, if I'm not mistaken they signed him for a three book contract but cut him after 2 so Im guessing no?

responding to every text message and ensuring maximal prison enjoyment is a work ethic in and of itself, stalker. i have instructed you many thousands of times.

Gate Crashers, Starship Repo, and In the Black are all published by Tor, so unless there's some contractual fuckery in the background it looks to me like they got their three crappy (and deviant) books from him. whatever they paid him went to the samsung flip-phone and many vacations, child. you know nothing at all as usual, but know this: your life is already over.

Well if you put it like that you're not wrong it's just most people apply that to things that make money, not things that make you look like a fat moron who is fat.

I seem to recall that his three book deal they got two books into the trilogy and they saw that shit wasn't selling so they told him to just try anything else so the trilogy is incomplete.

huh. I could have sworn that he had one series that had been announced as a trilogy but only two books were actually ever published, but its not like I can be arsed to actually look into it.

i did a search on a few apparent keywords in those three books and that seems to be correct. In the Black is the odd duck out from a very limited glance.

no child i made three books not two.png

yeah, amazon shows there being only two books in The Breach series.

"Annihilation fuel...reactant mass...BREACH..."

You have real problems as a falsely called science-fiction writer when your concept of faster-than-light space travel sounds like a tubgirlian bowel movement.

And that's saying nothing of not understanding the difference between the state of being eclectic and the plane of the ecliptic.

I finally saw The Whale and looking at that stillshot from his podcast interview with his messy wife in his messy half-hovel I couldn't help but think of the line "I've always been big, I just let it get out of control."

He's not fat suit fat yet, but even in just the last year it looks like he's put on 50 lbs. And I remember writing this same thing maybe a year ago, he has to have put on another 100-150 lbs since Trump was elected and his brain finally totally snapped. It's alarming and sad that no one in his life cares enough about him to stop it; his backup plan may be to eat himself to death and leave Niki with his rage debt and enough blubber to fuel the lamps of New England for a year.

Yup. You'd be amazed how far showing up on time and putting in the work -- even if you half ass it sometimes -- will carry you.

Cussler wasn't some grand artist of writing. He wrote formulaic novels about a guy who was a pastiche of Indiana Jones and got laid every book. But they sold, and sold well enough for Cussler to fund a nonprofit operation to locate shipwrecks.

Cussler wrote good airplane/beach adventure novels. Nothing fancy or innovative, but fun reads. From the little I've seen Pat wpuld have to double his IQ to do half as well.

I listened to Jersh's yesterday stream where part of the Javier interview was played, and I am unable to cope with how moronic Pat is.
These are legal issues he could have found out by using Google.
"We didn't know we could appeal" Nigger, what? Who goes into a lawsuit without knowing you can appeal?
And if you found out after the fact, you should have done your homework and found out that you can't appeal anymore.

"We are not done fighting this" Yes, yes you are. There is nothing you can do except maybe protect your assets.

"We are not in contempt of court" Yeah sure, that's why you ignore the courts ruling. Not contempt at all to ignore a ruling.

"The judgment was illegitimate" Then you should have appealed. You haven't, because you are a retard, and now it will stand.

I seriously can't grasp this retardation. He will show up in court and try to argue his case again. The case he lost. His dissonance with legal reality is so strong that I believe that the chances are fair that he will oink out and child the judge.

What mystifies me is that Thikk Nikk is going along with this. Pat is a low IQ lunatic, but she is probably somewhat intellectually capable.
Why does he support this? Is she just a really loyal woman? Or did Pat's retardation infect her and damaged her brain?

I don't even try. Patrick is free to think whatever he wants to think, so long as it results in him mouthing off to the judge on camera for my amusement.
