What Video caused you to stop watching a Youtuber?

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Stopped watching Dungeoncraft when he advocated having your character be a fucktard who everyone else playing would have to tardwrangle for the whole game. Round-filed everything he'd said after that.

Not a YouTuber in particular, but pretty much everyone I once watched who has a sponsorship, complains about demonetization, and plugs their Patreon/Subscribestar page, all in the same video, no less.

I get that being a YouTuber is cutthroat, and I encourage people to make as much money however way they can, but nickel and diming the viewer, beating them over the head to support you when you have three sources of profit is just distracting, and condescending.

These same YouTubers will omit anything they deem demonetizable, like anything related to nazis and mass murders, despite some of these channels focusing on history or media analysis. You as a viewer are constantly being distracted by meta bullshit while getting a sanitized sub-par product, even if you had pledged to support the channel financially.

Metatron, The Closer Look, and Fire of Learning are all guilty of this (the latter two are shit in retrospect), the last time I watched them, anyway.

In regards to Metatron in particular, I couldn't care less that he stands up to leftist historical revisionism, I'm not masochistic enough to be treated like a piggybank while getting nothing good for it. It's the trap of thinking that because someone opposes the same enemy as you, they also have your best interests.

Really, it's those who claim to be on your side whom you have to be vigilant, as proven by the likes of Andrew Tate, not that I'm accusing Metatron of being on Tate's level of horridness, but he is on the same spectrum.

Creativity and profit aren't mutually exclusive; it's the most creative works that make the most profit. Unfortunately, the ecosystem on YouTube had been artificially corrupted beyond repair a long time ago, and this is the end result.

I appreciate the ones who keep their "OMG help me game the algorithm" spiel to 30 seconds at the start of video (and maybe a reminder the end) and are transparent "I really don't fucking care what you comment, just comment to up my engagement metrics" vs. "What do you think about climate change? Let me know in the comments below"

There once was a wandering preacher who was so filled with the Holy Spirit, he could convert any sinner or atheist to a true repenting believer. He wandered from town to town, spreading the word. When walking along a forest path towards the next down, this Preacher came across a hungry bear who chased him. The preacher had no hope of out running, the bear, but tripped on a root, sprained his ankle and had no hope of escaping the hungry bear charging at him.

The Preacher decided if the Holy Spirit could save the soul of a sinner, it was worth seeing it if could save the body of a believer. With the bear on him, bellowing and reared up on its hind lends, The preacher held out his hand and prayed.
"Great and merciful lord, please make this bear a good Christian!"
As soon a he prayed these words, the bear suddenly went quiet and stood there a moment blinking. It then fell to its knees, and clasped its paws together before it, and prayed.
"Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for this meal for which I am about to receive...."

I stop watching channels that get over 100k subs. I'm not a hipster or anything, I just like it when they are just autistically gushing about their passion, especially when they do it in an entertaining or creative way. By 100k usually one of the following have happened:
  • They've used up all their original creative ideas.
  • They come to believe (either rightly or wrongly) that it is their interesting and entertaining persona or perspective people are there for.
  • 'I need to use my platform responsibly'
  • The passion project is now an income source
  • They get really into either a community or their own community, and their content gets injokey and insular.

Something about that silver play button.....

there's been moments where I've watched a video and said "nope, not watching this" but I genuinely can't remember who's channel it was. j aubrey because of his autistic leftism, he made decent docs but I can't stand someone who constantly shills for "trans rights" and "but what about the black people"

here's a list that I can think of off the top of my head
  1. Pyrocynical - used to follow him way back in 2016 when he was still known for making MLG parodies, liked his commentary videos and was a fan of this meme about pyro going around. Hindsight is 20/20 but can't believe I was watching this shit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyOa3WgUu5c he also did furry RP with a minor, and dated a 14 year old french girl
  2. Shane Dawson - now before people start rating me autistic, I was a fan of him when I was a child. back when i thought constant dick jokes were funny and had zero to little self awareness. I was a superfan at the time and enjoyed "Not Cool", yes that movie and I re-watched it again years ago and realized "holy fuck this movie sucks". then one day, I decided to watch a video about the allegations of Shane Dawson making CP jokes, fucking cats, and all sorts of degenerate shit. it got really, really, really hard to defend the jokes. I think serious topics can be laughed and joked about but when the punchline is "so i came onto instagram one day, i saw this popular 9 year old on there and i couldn't help myself but get hard" or something along those lines.
  3. Cinemasins - i'm kinda cheating considering i haven't watched him in years but a week ago, I came across this PKA clip of Jeremy (libtard) and Kyle (someone from georgia who's right leaning) argue about immigration. to give the short about it, everyone was arguing about letting immigration happen but with proper background checks and such. Jeremy goes "SO YOU'RE JUST GONNA LET THOSE MUSLIM CHILDREN DIE". kyle gives a nuanced argument about what if there's a terrorist in this group of 10 people and Jeremy goes "I'm willing to take that risk if it means the other 9 people get in"
it's a hell of a watch and was funny to see someone seething so fucking hard from a liberal POV

lol while searching for that clip, hank green comes up where he actually gets mad at kyle for having a right leaning opinion and says he wants to leave because he can't handle what kyle is saying

Both CinemaSins and CinemaWins are complete leftists. I'd say CinemaWins hurts me the most as he shilled for BLM well over three years back during the St. Floyd riots causing me to nope outta that channel as fast as possible (as with every other people who've gone completely woke with their leftist identity bullshit).

I genuinely can't remember most of the videos I stopped watching someone for, since most of these aren't recent. I have a bunch, though.

Cryaotic

Letsplayer from the age of Pewdiepie's height in popularity. It's when he came out as pansexual in one video, but even before that I was watching one of his videos once and suddenly he let loose with creepy, manic laughter that I knew was acting, but it creeped me out. I somehow got the feeling that he wasn't a chill dude anymore from that. That was years before the scandal with him came to a head.

CC Suarez

Her channel mainly talks about MLM stuff, and she has a long-running series of Top MLM Fails. She's known for not being nice about MLM huns, unlike many other female youtubers talking about the same subjects. I can't say which video it was because there are several that I see on her channel I didn't finish but it might have been TOP MLM FAILS #68, since that's the most recent in her history that I can see I barely watched any of. I don't remember how it came up, but she defended women going to strip clubs alongside their boyfriends, seeing nothing wrong with it at all, and admitted to doing it herself because she's bisexual. I honestly get really turned off when anyone mentions their sexuality when it isn't necessary, but the strip club thing grossed me out and made me think she's just a degenerate who's opinions I don't want to take seriously anymore.

Stephanie Harlowe

A true crime lady who used to do makeup videos, her videos are generally well researched. I noticed last year that she really started to act holier-than-thou about the criminals in the cases, and would go on short tangents about her opinion of them. Just like This Is Monsters, she couldn't help herself after a while. Sometimes you can see her get bitchy at people commenting on her videos. I also saw her bitchy and flirty behavior towards her cohost Derrick on Crime Weekly, the podcast/youtube show they run together. She's married and has 3 kids. And on top of all that, her sponsorship segments are always way too fucking long, sometimes running for over 5 minutes for some deodorant or some shit.

DeadwingDork

I liked his content for a while, but his personality grates on me and so does his voice. When he yells it's like nails on a chalkboard. I unsubscribed when he blatantly smoked a bowl on stream and nothing interesting was going on. It just hit me how he's a fat lazy canuck who's really not fun to watch.

Nex?

I actually can't fully remember the channel name, except for having "Nex" in it. I can't find it anymore because Nexpo is so popular, and I really don't feel like looking at a tranny whose content I used to like. He was a film student that liked to review horror movies, and I thought he was pretty funny at the time. He had a skeleton prop with glowing eyes that had a moving jaw, so he did little skits with it. One video, I noticed he was either wearing fake nails or painted his nails red or pink, wore red lipstick, and was talking in that gross falsetto/gay voice that troons use. He came out as a troon, and made a short film about him worshipping Satan because God hates him anyway. Everyone in the comments was praising his appearance.

RyeToast

FNAF youtuber who makes dumb theories. This year at the beginning of June or the end of May, he put a nonbinary flag behind him in a video and came out that way. He didn't draw attention to it, but confirmed when a commenter asked about it in that video. I have zero tolerance for such faggotry, but especially for a grown man with a beard.

MrSprings

A literally autistic FNAF channel who captured my interest because he likes to make videos on FNAF merch and sperg about it. I enjoy such things in small doses. I don't know when it happened, but he goes by they/them pronouns now and his turtle channel mascot has eyelashes on it when it didn't before, like a girly cartoon animal. He also talks in a gay high-pitched voice that he didn't speak in before.

Youtube keeps pushing Tom Scott and I am tired of him. I used to watch pretty much all of his stuff and appreciate how he did not push his politics too much. Then one day he just made a quick comment on how there are multiple genders and "what year do you live in if you don't know this?"

Simon Roper. Interesting linguistics guy who talked a lot about old english, sound changes, stuff like that. Fascinating deep dives into autistic little details about how the language changed over time. Then, three months ago, he uploaded an transcendental rant about how much he hated anyone who wasn't vocally pro trans, while trying to cram a bunch of troon propaganda into historical records. Instant unsub. Very disappointing.

I know who you're talking about, can't remember the name right now either but I'd seen some of his videos a while back and someone else mentioned his troonout on here. Checked him out, can confirm the insanity. Luckily I never gave a shit about his content to follow him initially but it is still sad.

Kinda related to this. Got recommended a video about probability and odds in a video game and, for no fucking reason, the creator uses it as a reason to start rambling about the 2020 election and how your uncle is racist. In a video about odds in a child's video game. Literally fuck off and stop assuming every single person watching your video gives a shit about your country and their politics.

Christ I know exactly who you are talking about cause they used to heavly colab with night mind. Once they trooned out night mind basically deleted all references to them on his channel and he was never mentioned again.

never religiously watched this person but recently they came on my radar and I resolved to never watch them again. Lilith Walther, the person that made the ps1 demake of bloodborne, has started uploaded XD furry memes on their youtube, with themselves as an anime girl. They are trans, and I wouldn't care if they weren't also being a massive jackass about it.

I just can't watch it. I had respect for them when I thought they were a passionate autist, I didn't know they were this kind of autist.

You're thinking of Nyx Fears, used to be buddies with Nick Nocturne:

As soon as anyone starts spouting dumb troon shit, I hit the unsub. I can't with YTers who do this trans shit especially when you know they're just spouting 'Trannies are what they say they are' without believing a lick of it. Great. Don't care. Talk about bad movies, dumb ass. That's why people are here. (Elvis the Alien springs to mind and his JK Rowling screed of TERF LADY BAD before he reviewed all the HP films. They're all so predictable.)

I used to watch thequartering awhile back before I stopped watching because he’s getting very annoying at this point.

Is Tom Scott that British guy with 40 year old dad hair?
