The Internet died when it was connected to AOL. If you think the smartphone killed it, it's because you were born after 9/11. The Internet after normies started to join it is what ruined EVERYTHING people ITT are complaining about, because people born into treat real life second and their "identity" is like another user profile
I don't care. I also think most people are far too retarded to drive, let alone own a weapon near me. But I can't go to a shop or a range without getting a political lecture. Like, I get it. Shitlibs are bad. But these NPCs just repeat all the same talking points.
I hear ya. Though the hipster community is causing the price of Vinyls to increase, while selling turn-tables and decks that aren't vinyl in anyway shape or form. If the deck has to process the vinyl through software and not just amplify the sound generated where the needle contacts the LP, then is it much different to a CD or MP3?I used to be into tech until it got overrun by "smart" features and always-online bullshit. I used to love computers, gaming, mobile phones, TVs, keeping up with what the newest features and technology were bringing us. Now it's all just depressing "increased cloud functionality", "stream Netflix directly from your device!", "let the Chinese listen to your phone calls in pristine quality".
I still like some tech, particularly audio as there are limited ways the globohomo can infect that. For the most part though tech is a cesspit now. It saddens me.
Game piracy is on its deathbed i feel. Denuvo really put a hamper on it and eventually you won't be able to keep and install any files on your own PC as the future is to livestream all the assets in real time. All the major companies are rubbing their hands together waiting to make the leap to the new always online subscription based system. When media is censored, cancelled and removed on a whim, when the only way to watch most media is through streaming services and when anti-piracy measures make the experience worse, those who sail the seven seas are bad people? We are preservationists.
It's ironic that I've started buying old DVDs again because the torrents are either dead or non-existent. Especially for old British TV, people simply do not seed that shitGaI personally don't care about vidya that much anymore. Nothing good is coming out anyways. But i have been making the effort to back up files for older stuff i like just in case. If Libgen went away for example, that would really suck. My favorite release group for movies went bust recently and that stung. Oldschool anime ovas are already becoming harder to torrent since they have too few seeds.
I'm with you, I barely play any vidya anymore as most games aren't worth my time, let alone the money. I suppose that's a double-win against piracy; make the games so mundane that they aren't worth playing for free.Game piracy is on its deathbed i feel. Some old things manage to end up in youtube but thats even more unreliable. You might see an older show thats out of any copyright stranglehold but you blink and its gone, some of my older playlists have more than half the videos deleted. It's ironic that I've started buying old DVDs again because the torrents are either dead or non-existent. And charge full price for a port of a game that have been able to be emulated for 20 years and then re-release it again for every new gen of consoles to keep milking it again and again. Square Enix with Final Fantasy games is probably the most shamelessWhy do I need to pay a decent whack for a modern-day gaming computer to run a game that released in the 90s and ran on potato-processors?
There is no feeling more distressing than finding the first few episodes of a series on Youtube and then seeing the final episode has been removed by a copyright strike. Some old things manage to end up in youtube but thats even more unreliable. Does anyone know if there's a way to hack TV's and strip all of that unnecessary garbage off of it?
I only follow the occasional lolcows in the “community” for a quick laugh or two. I’m mainly a lone wolf.I wouldn't say my hobbies are ruined overall. However, I don't stay current with many of them. I certainly don't interact with whatever so-called communities that are supposedly dedicated to these hobbies. For example: I still like video games, but I stick to old ones or avoid fandoms of current games. All the same, I really wish politics would stay out of all my hobbies.
As for an opposite yet related animal, snakes, the same shit started happening from 2015-on, kind of tied in with the rise of other previously less popular alternatives to dogs and cats. Social media has really done a number on a lot of industries but it's made me hate a lot of reptile breeders and keepers more and more. The worst part is this boost made species that really aren't reasonable for beginners, like ball pythons with their need for high humidity popular. Everyone spammed the 'snakes are so easy to keep versus a dog/cat/whatever' line. The worst part of it though is once people realize, like with most of these trendy buys, that they don't actually care to keep them they either start trying to dump them off on other people or for a slim few try to 'release them to the wild' whether or not their reticulated python was actually from Georgia or not. As for some of the people that made snake keeping their new obsession, plenty of animal-hoarders to be were born from this as well as plenty more half assed breeders, which links into another issue, breeding the animals for qualities they'd never have in the wild, repeating the same mistakes made with dogs, cats, and several varieties of cattle, and made existing problem morphs even worse of an issue such as the sadly highly valued spider ball pythons and their neurological problems.Rats.
Rats are queer.
Every queer should have a rat.
Fuck off.
Every time I look for cute rattie merch, half of it is troon coloured or pride coloured or has that shitty 'inclusive' pride flag drapped across it. Without a doubt, does in heat are very prison gay, but prison gay is not real gay. Put a buck in with those horny girls and every single doe will be knocked up in twenty minutes or less. But it's not even the prison gay that's attracting the queers, it's the fact that vermin are counter culture, normals are creeped out by them, keeping rats means you're a rebel, you're fighting for the underdog...
I can't stand people who get any kind of animal because it's fashionable. Yes, I do indeed find that keeping domestic vermin is useful in driving off the overly ridgid and judgmental types, which saves me getting involved with those individuals. I am an autist, so this is very helpful to me. But if you're going to get rats, get them because they're sweet and soft and affectionate and funny and intetesting and smart. Not because everyone else you know has them. Not because you want to make a statement. Not because you want to rebel. Not because it's a counter culture movement.
Get them because they're awesome and you love them. That's the only reason you should get rats.
That's the only reason you should get any pet.
Removing no-no words requires a 69420TI and an i9 800000000008. Please understand.I'm with you, I barely play any vidya anymore as most games aren't worth my time, let alone the money. I suppose that's a double-win against piracy; make the games so mundane that they aren't worth playing for free.
One game i'm looking forward to is BG3, as Larian put care and enjoyment into their products.
Corporations have ruined the ability to play old games with remakes and re-releases. Why do I need to pay a decent whack for a modern-day gaming computer to run a game that released in the 90s and ran on potato-processors? Oh, because the companies have 'updated' and 'remade' the game, removing all no-no words and forcing you to upgrade your old hardware.
Sorry for the rant/sperg but i'm happy playing BG2 in og quality. I don't need 4k michael bay porn to enjoy a game.
Why tf would a TV ever need to connect to the internet?God i wish i was autistic enough to learn tech to do this shit, i absolutely hate the smart function tvs. We had to buy a new one because the korean garbage fucking died last week. Got some el cheapo and never connected to the internet so it has no "smart" features. That's basically the only way i could get around it for now.
*Edit
stole this from the Images that Make you Laugh thread it was appropriate for the complaints we've had.

Not just anything related to gender, even just stuff people in the past found comedic like clowns have been further twisted from something people later found scary to being forced as something sexual. A lot of horror adjacent concepts have gone that way. This isn't really a hobby (or at least one I would NEVER participate in), but crossdressing in shows and cartoons used to be seen as nothing more than a comedic gag. It's like "oh look, Bugs Bunny is dressed up like a GIRL! Isn't that so wacky, weird and funny?" But now every time crossdressing gets shown in media I just think "Holy fuck, the people behind this are absolutely cranking their dicks to this..." and if not that, then trannies from twitter will absolutely take it and run fictional characters to the fucking ground claiming they're "SO HECKKIN VALID AND AN EGG WAITING TO BE CRACKED!!!" Really any comedy that has to do with gender norms is completely fucked at this point because gooners and sissy fetish faggots will see any opportunity they can in ruining what was otherwise a tongue-in-cheek play on how we as humans normally go about living as male or female.
The sheer amount of pooners that popped up in snake keeping blew my mind with how fast it happened. The reptile community was always full of dysgenic wiggers but the explosion of softboi Aidens showing off their new baby danger noodles the past few years threw me for a loop the first time I noticed it. Now I can't help but notice all the pooners at the reptile shows I go to. The fact that these pooner snakes like ball pythons and hognose snakes can live anywhere from 20-50 years never sat right with me either since a lot of them are clearly buying them to follow a trend. As for an opposite yet related animal, snakes, the same shit started happening from 2015-on, kind of tied in with the rise of other previously less popular alternatives to dogs and cats.
They include all the fucking shovel ware apps too it like YT,Prime and all that shit. I don't use any of them mostly for lazy people. Why tf would a TV ever need to connect to the internet?
