I think these are probably the prerequisites for men and women to be platonic friends.
Either there is some sort of shared topic or hobby that is more important than fucking (though arguably this will remain an acquaintanceship, rather than proper friendship, because it won't go beyond the superficial), or there is absolutely no sexual interest - the libido deadened.
My friends are split ~ 55/45 female : male, but what all of my female friends have in common is that I don't harbor any sexual interest in them.
I'd argue that the third, rare instance can be remaining friends after breaking up amicably, but arguably that falls into the "no longer sexually interested" category (at least one'd hope so). Trying to be "just friends" with someone who you want to sleep with or who wants to sleep with you is, more often than not, a recipe for resentment.

I have found that the only thing to do is to only be friends with men who have been married for 3+ years, essentially having another woman vet them and be a shield from flirtation. I've had more than one decent friendship (over a year of knowing each other and regularly talking about our families/jobs/opinions on social issues) become unbearable because the guy wouldn't stop insisting on his feelings after I'd told him I wasn't interested. Then I have to be the bitch and end it. It's very upsetting to realize your friend is willing to turbo the relationship for a chance at getting his dick wet. More than once the guy has not respected my wishes that the friendship end and kept trying to contact me (sending things to my house, making alts to circumvent blocks) which adds a whole other level of weird and uncomfortable.

Men like to say women don't truly know what loneliness is because if they want to get laid they can hop on any app and get laid. That's kind of the opposite of the point. I would like to be able to pursue my interests and make friends who don't want to bone me. At this point I've accepted I will have some female acquaintances that I have very little in common with and some male acquaintances that I need to be ready to sweep from my life when needed.

Women probably commit domestic violence more than men do, but men usually don't report it because they won't be taken seriously.
