Sorry to sperg out about politics but I have to push back a bit here. I agree that troonism is definitely being pushed from above by some very powerful people. And academia is a big part of pushing it. And if you pull the thread pretty much all the liberal academic theory justifying it has it's roots in Marxist analysis. But at this point it's so far removed from the sort of material analysis that is supposed to be the core of Marxism that it would be completely unrecognizable to the sort of Marxism that people like Marx and Lenin and Mao pushed. I don't think the Marxists of the 20th century would have wanted this. If anything modern identity politics in general and gender identity in particular is poison to the sort of class consciousness that Marxists traditionally thought would bring about the revolution.

I think that gender identity has to be thought of as a product. Gender affirming care makes huge amounts of money, but even things like academia and pornography are part of pushing that product. What's happening is that a fake problem "gender dysphoria" was invented and now an incredibly profitable solution to a problem that didn't exist before is being pushed to fix it. This is classic capitalism, it's Edward Bernays shit. You convince people that by purchasing your product they are solving a problem they didn't know existed before they encountered your product. That's why gender nonsense has so much institutional support, because there's so much money at stake. Academia is doing marketing for it because it is bought and paid for, even if their methods have their roots in Marxism their current goals very much align with those of the ruling class. Who want to maintain the current system not destroy it.

I don't think this is some sort of Marxist dead mans switch designed to destroy capitalism, if anything it's the opposite. Liberal institutions that once had pretensions of being anti-capitalism have been so ideologically captured that they are now doing PR work for the capitalist superstructure they once claimed to oppose. If you look at who benefits most from gender ideology it's the medical/pharmaceutical industry that socialists used to claim was the devil. Ironically a lot of self described socialists trooned out so now they are voluntarily turning themselves into paypiggies to the same medical industry they were campaigning against not too long ago. I think a big thing that turned me against troonism was realizing that trooning out really is the ultimate act of consoomerism. How can you claim to be fighting against capitalism when you base your whole identity around the idea that you can buy a new personality from big pharma?

There’s also a link between HRT and increased anxiety & depression. Most research is done in menopausal women though, so whether it can be related to troons I don’t know, I’m not scientific enough to make the comparison. However, high levels of hormones are known to be hard on the liver and this can increase cortisol levels.

I do not understand the appeal. I love a well made soft toy, but that thing isn't it. If it were "real" Ikea troons could swap out parts of it and then it'd make sense from a troon perspective. Sharks aren't even sequential hermaphrodites like some fish are. You'd think that they'd be all over something like a ribbon eel, for instance. It changes not just sex, but colour too!
