Pat, since you are reading this. I have some advice/an angle you may want to consider.
If you have to show up on thursday to explain yourself.
If the judge asks you why you skipped showing up for the debtors exam and why this is not contempt?
You can tell the judge that, no, in fact that was not contempt. It was the exact opposite of contempt, it was respect of the court.
On your way to the hearing you accidentally got very drunk and realized that while skipping the hearing might be a lesser form of indirect contempt, showing up at the hearing black-out drunk would have been much more serious direct contempt.
Since you only skipped the hearing in respect of the court, to avoid direct contempt by showing up drunk, this cancels out the indirect contempt by not showing up.
Ergo, no contempt at all happened and your sacrifice by showing such respect to the court to avoid contempt was so great that you should be awarded a re-litigation of the issue. Also quasi should go to jail right away.
Unless the judge is a child he will understand and applaud your respect for the court. And if he doesn't then he is a child and you should remind him of that.

That particular case has been going on for a while with the side that got sanctioned having tested Sosnay greatly. So he dropped the hammer. It means that if things continue that he will probably order the fines... Eventually. Just not yet.
Well this probably means they will appear on Thursday and ask for a continuance which will be granted. While it means less milk for us, Patty having lawyers is the best thing for him honestly. They won't let him sperg about it being illegitimate etc etc etc.
There might be a possible new saga though when these lawyers dump him for being Pigheadded Pat so that could be fun too.

I find it interesting that this case had another judge previously and now that it turned into a contempt hearing, suddenly there's a judge notorious for his use of judicial contempt powers.
Why did that happen?

Rather bold move of whatever pest that made the court bingo card to put "shows up" in what should be the free space, though I know the odds are more favorable for that as of today. Great card nonetheless. It's a shame we can't use it while watching a stream.
