Well, that's gonna blow for whatever future this franchise has. All you need is a party member like Merrill who specialized in blood magic, and now any deaths of allies and your closest friends are just cheap because they should be easily be brought back to life. And if this doesn't appear again, it just makes the characters look stupid. It's a lose-lose.
Tbf here the device that could do that with Blood magic is an Old Tevinter artifact/macguffin but the fact that it was created by a past Tevinter mage like it is nothing, that it can ressurect the dead from the afterlife and as such confirms that there is one, opens so many cans of worms and directly violates DA lore

Only good thing the anime did was bring back Jean Gilpin as Meredith. Say what you want about Dragon Age 2 but you cannot deny that her performance as the high inquisitior is equal parts powerful and absolutely terrifying. This is probably an unpopular opinion but Meredith the character was the best part of that damn game. None of that woke shit affected her. She just wanted power and to murder people.

(Shes so damn good in Skyrim too as various characters. Honestly she should have the career Jen Hale, Frank Welker, etc have.)

It's too bad her character just helps worsen the problem of the already boring Mages vs. Templars conflict by making the Templars look like a bunch of idiotic cartoon villains, though it's not like the Mages are shown any better or more reasonably. It's also better than Inquisition which doubles down on the whole "all Chantry and Templars stupid and evil, all Qunari and Mages smart and good" shit.

mass effect 4 is dead unless they hand it off to someone else. all current day writers are shit and there will be no point if they dont bring back renegade choices.

oh right and dragon age 4 I guess. I fell off the wagon when they didn't follow up on the story of 2. Much better party members and MC.

Seeing that Bioware hasn't made a good game since Mass Effect 2/DA:O (2009-2010 By the way) I'm surprised there hasn't been more layoffs because there's no way EA isn't threating to shut them down do to the amount of money they lose every year.

What does EA even have now other than sports, Battlefield, mobile, and Bioware? Cutting their loses with them would be a huge ego blow.

And aside the other things they keep fucking up is Need for Speed and Maxis brand name Sims. Fuck EA

Even that's lacking in their department. They had, I believe 19 sports franchises twenty years ago. Now, they have three: FIFA (now FC), Madden NFL and NHL.

I find it perplexing that they have FIVE racing franchises now. They had Need for Speed, Burnout and Real Racing, but since they bought Codemasters, they have Formula One and GRID too.

Dragon Age needs a reboot
At this point you'd have to basically just pretend 2-Inq don't exist and pick up after Origins or do something Blight related in a different part of the world.

Anyway, Bioware is dead in the water, I don't expect them to manage pushing ME4 or Dread Wolf out the door. It has been years with no footage or meaningful trailers. If the projects aren't scrapped wholesale I'll be stunned.

Dragon Age needs a reboot
I very much agree but I cannot stop asking myself : Yeah, but to put the licence in the hand of which studios ? Larian or Owlcat could be "better" choices but you never know, it could be worse.

And then I cannot stop remembering all the shit they did after DAO, all the wasted potential and that BioWare needs to be euthanized.

Dragon Age needs a reboot
They need a team of anyone else and just slap the name on a new fantasy game. There's some cool lore from origins they could use. I thought the dwarves were great, caste system and everything. Same with demons.

Or better yet, throw the entire thing in a hole and write bioware on the tombstone.
