Montreal along with Toronto are homo heaven. Nobody here gives a shit if youre gay or trans if you act like a normal human being and not flaunt it around. Its mostly older, conservative and usually straight off the boat arabic people ive seen who cant stand it but ive never seen it go "all fags should die" but more of a "i cant stand these homos". But mileage may vary with how bitter said old person is or their culture before immigrating here.

Like you asked, Buy a Quebec Author's Book Day. This is apparently a random event that started online on social networks. You see, with the Internet, shipping, e-books, culture is now a lot more International. What ever media we prefer to consume might actually come from another country. Most best "Bande Dessinées" and (french) "Graphic Novels" come from Europe.
So, in response to this, some random people apparently started a social network "event" to buy a Quebecois book to promote our culture. It's not a bad idea in itself, I think it's important to support our kinsmen, some of them make AWESOME BOOKS & SHIT. But Sophie isn't selling a book. It's like buying Mein Kampf on "Buy a German Book Day" or the Scientology Bible on "Religion day". You're buying an ideology.
There are a few successful authors in Quebec. I don't know their revenue. Anne Robillard wrote "Les Chevaliers d'Émeraudes", 12 books, then its sequel, "Héritiers d'Enkidiev", and she is working on the sequel to the sequel. She's been at that for at least 15 years. It is a good series. It's kinda convoluted with some asspulls there and there, but the feeling is there.

As for me, well, to be honest thanks to Kiwi Farms' sane reactions to Sophie's bullshit, I've managed to build up an immunity so I come here a bit less. I still read the thread every two days or so. Also when she travels she posts less shit. So rather than saying "Idiotic" in response to each comic I shut up. When I have something more to say I'll say it. Also, I did a lot of research these past weeks and I have a better idea of all that "transtrender" nonsense and I'm pretty certain now that transitioning might be necessary for some, but not most, and that they should try to heal the issues otherwise before trying to modify the body via hormones or even blockers. Then, if dysphoria itself persist, you modify the body. Someone with no dysphoria who wants to transition likes someone gets a tattoo... I'm not sure if he should be given hormones. Problem is the /r/asktransgender subreddit promotes the purchase of illegal hormones or products containing the hormones in smaller dose, and self medicate.
That's a whole lot of crap, we need more medical professionals on this case. Not psychologists (they are not doctors) but actual psychiatrists, as psychiatrists are formed as medical practitioners also, I believe. The transgender experience is highly subjective and OF COURSE it is always positive for them, but they project that positivity to someone with the same feelings of pain, BUT, the CAUSE of these feelings of pain can be different. If my wrist hurt, can be because it's broken, can be carpal tunnel, can be BECAUSE SOMEONE CHOPPED OFF MY HAND!
Okay, now back then there was no privilege because they weren't a society. In Quebec, the natives cured their scurvy.
