“The single most important thing we can do to strengthen ourselves relative to China is to see Russia defeated in Ukraine. Because they are allies, and Russia being weakened weakens their ally, China,” Romney said.

“Being able to take an amount which equals what about 5 percent of our military budget, but actually less than 5 percent of our military budget each year to help the Ukrainians, is about about the best national defense spending I think we’ve ever done,” Romney claimed.

He added “We’re losing no lives in Ukraine,” while not mentioning the hundreds of thousands of dead Ukrainians.

He continued, “the Ukrainians are fighting heroically against Russia that has 1,5000 nuclear weapons aimed at us. It’s like, so, we’re diminishing and devastating the Russian military for a very small amount of money relative to what we spend on the rest of defense.”

“It is very much in America’s national interest in our national interest to help Ukraine. And the best thing we can do for America is to see people who have nuclear weapons and that is getting weaker,” Romney concluded.

Never going to happen, this will turn into pure appropriations spending to replenish stockpiles which means a lot of jobs and money flowing into states like Utah and Nevada. Hard to sell people on cutting that back especially after all the rounds of BRAC in the past couple of decades.

The MIC creates and supports a lot well-paying jobs at all levels that can't be offshored, that alone makes it almost impossible to reduce spending or cancel programs. It's an even easier sell than infrastructure spending especially if it involves no commitment of US forces overseas.

It's not an excommunicable violation in the RCC's canon law either. If you divorce and remarry without annulment you're in an objective state of mortal sin so you can't receive the Eucharist until you remedy the situation and receive sacramental absolution. If you divorce and remain chaste and celibate, there's no issue at all even without an annulment as you are still married in the eyes of the Church.

Annulment is much more serious than divorce but most people don't have enough catechesis to understand why. It's not something that should be done lightly.

March 4 is the day before Super Tuesday in the primaries. It is only two months later than what Fag Smith wanted the trial to start. But it's not political, fellas.

This also interferes with the Florida case, which I believe is May 20 tentatively (more like the judge is using that time frame to block others from setting their dates), and the New York gay case is March 24. I always understood you can't leapfrog a case ahead of those already starting but it's clown world.

Absolutely insane. Besides just the issues with discovery, the amount of novel legal theories involved are going to require at least a year worth of motion work. I can think of at least 5 or 6 completely novel grounds that have never before been litigated, each and every one is dispositive (which means motions that decide if the trial even proceeds) and each and every one will have to be argued, appealed (because Chutkan won't grant them) then appealed AGAIN (because the DC Circuit has TDS).

This is not a trial that you can speedrun and the increasingly desperate attempts to do so are going to explode spectacularly.

It was brought up the Georgia case wanted to start March 4th too, very thunk provoking, no collusion at all.

And speaking of Georgia, Brian Kemp said there was no fraud in 2020, despite the GA SOS now saying there was issues, but here he is saying the truth when he thinks he's not on camera (and then his daughter tells him to move on).

About the "competency crisis" I m involved in a college program that teaches industrial automation.

The amount of vendor resources for teaching systems is rather impressive and having all the lecture online are a god send.

One of my friends works for a grain silo company and was just telling me about isses they are having in GA, most likely caused by the local power grid having black outs. so having both voltage and freq changes are burnng out boards.

Also remember biden stopped rail works from striking as they complained about safety and maintence issues.

Also in industry you have the fucking sunk cost fallacy they want to amortize capital costs over infinity never mind that at some point you need to build/re build the facilities and equipment
