It's pretty clear that Seder didn't read anything he has written about trannies and got that information about him from his detractors on Twitter. It's trally striking how he goes on and on about how Jesse should censor himself because bad people might use the information he presents in ways that this knockoff Mark Maron doesn't like. It's pretty much an admission that he thinks of journalism as being propaganda first and foremost, something which I also believe, but pundits are supposed to pretend otherwise.

You know, I think an underappreciated cause of JSDS is not just that he is a milquetoast liberal but that he remains a milquetoast liberal. Most commenters who speak out about trans stuff end up getting hardened by years of cancellation and abuse and death threats. Their original positions change, or at least they stop expressing themselves quite as politely. The TRAs can then point to that and say "See? They just hated trans people the whole time!"

To a certain extent I think this is conscious and deliberate on the part of TRAs, a significant portion of them know exactly what they are doing. Abuse the dissenter until they say the bad thing, and then use it as justification to abuse all dissenters. After all, the politeness and centrism is just an act (because they stopped being polite after you doxed them and threatened their family).

Jesse (unlike Katie) refuses to follow this pattern. He remains a spluttering "Why can't we all just get along?" ingenue after all these years. This ENRAGES them.

I think the difference is that Jesse has had an easier experience since the trannies didn't try to attack him IRL and his friends in the industry didn't totally abandon him, so he has been able to continue to find work and even get a book published by someone other than National Vanguard. In contrast, Katie had to flee Seattle because tranny supporters were passing out photos of her face in her neighborhood and telling people that she wanted to kill them, and her employer at the time took her to an isolated rooftop, sat a few feet away from her, and watched as a group of them ganged up on her to scream in her face for an hour. In the most recent episode of their podcast she talked about struggling to get a haircut now.

If that doesn't happen to you then you might have the ability to hide your loathing of these freaks and hold out some hope that a reasonable discussion is possible with them, which is why Jesse is so upbeat about it all. For the record, I think Katie's response is far more rational and I agree with her more than I do with Singal. I just think an unintended consequence of Singal's enduring calm liberal temperament is that it makes troons seethe like no one else can.
