I've never watched Metokur for more than about five minutes because I just don't care about anything he talks about, but I have been aware of him for a long time and have been paying a bit of attention to his life ever since his diagnosis. I feel it's my duty as the surgeon general to clear up something about his cancer.

People are acting like the fact that he didn't drop dead immediately after his diagnosis and disintegrate into a pile of ash like a vampire is proof that he's lying about having cancer. I don't know if he is or not, but I do know that indolent lymphoma simply doesn't work that way. Even at the average age of diagnosis (which is 60), indolent lymphoma is so slow growing that they sometimes don't even treat it. The doctors will literally tell you "you're probably going to die of something else first, so there's really no need to bother unless it starts becoming a problem".

Metokur, from what I gather, is in his 30s, so his body should be much more capable of fighting it than a 60 year old's. At his age, they would almost certainly go at it with fairly aggressive radiation and chemo, but the particulars depend on the subtype and staging, neither of which I know. What I do know is that no matter what route he takes, the treatment is going to kick the shit out of him and leave him with barely enough energy to stand up for weeks if not months at a time. The more aggressive the treatment, the higher the odds that he'll live longer, but the price you pay for ten more years is months of hell.

I don't know what's up with his spine apparently disintegrating, but I doubt it's related to the cancer. Either his day job involves taste testing plutonium or he's got real horseshit genetics and/or luck.

tl;dr if he does have indolent lymphoma (depending on subtype), the odds say he'll live another decade even if he doesn't bother treating it and another 20 years if he does, so calm down

From what I remember, the osteoporosis is a side effect of the treatment they're using for one of his myriad of genetic conditions that started coming into play while dealing with the initial tumor. It's the kind of thing where they've been spending multiple years and specialists to figure what the fuck is causing all the problems.

He's at the point where he stopped posting for a few days and then came back with a report from the hospital about his heart attack. So honestly who knows what the fuck is wrong with the bastard at this point.

Tends to be the case the human body isn’t meant to be on a mix of blood thinners, pain meds , water pills, and radiation. Saving one part of the body fucks up the rest and with cancer being the forever house guest who never leaves it means you are fucked.
