That comic is so bizarre in it's ability to totally miss the point. It's trying to equate politics with strength, yet it portrays the enemy character as being muscular and strong: implying their politics are strong. The good guy is shown as weak (implying weak politics) and can only win through underhanded methods.
I haven't seen a comic so badly miss the mark since the new guy comic.

If i'm understanding the lore the person he's railing about and the items he's railing about some of them reflect a past Brennan isn't embracing anymore. And some are the actions of others.

Guess the metric is people can't change and if they do change it doesn't matter. So long as that metric is applied to others not associated with him.
