Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

I haven't laughed so much since the CP2077 release threads.

Let's dance!

Have you heard about our lord and savior, Todd?

I see ya, whitey!

You can alt tab while someone is talking and it consistently gets the audio out of sync with the animations every time.

Of course the annoying character is the only one with green eyes in the game. You can barely even tell they are green without the LUT fixer mod, they look more white.

Its fucking hilarious. This game has some of the most... mediocre graphics for a modern game and he wants a 2080 and an SSD for it all? Its a flatter, blander Cyberpunk 2077 and he's demanding the exact same specs and even more HDD space.

More seriously, who the fuck has a an old-ass 1070 and an SSD?

I ran an SSD on my old 4th gen Haswell with a 960 in it. I haven't used an HDD for main storage since ~2012? This year I finally switched to SSD as main and secondary storage (although, with the size of games, I'm starting to think I underestimated how much storage I really need, terabytes just aren't what they used to be). I only use HDD for long term warm and cold storage now.

The torrent page failed to mention it. I'll swap it around and see if it improves things.

Make sure to comment on the torrent about lack of specs and that the release team should commit sudoku.

It runs like shit. On medium settings with FSR I get stable 60-80 FPS outdoors (i.e. on empty fucking rocks) and 90-100 indoors. CP2077 on high settings (gaytracing off) puts out 120-140 FPS without FSR.
Also, the game has a shit ton of hidden loading screens (airlocks) and still requires SSD. On the other hand, loading on my NVMe M2 is pretty much instant, making such airlocks redundant.
I'm glad that I pirated it.

The inability to launch from a planet seamlessly like in NMS is a real bummer for me. The ability to literally be able to walk the entire map of Skyrim was one of its greatest aspects, it was truly 100% open world. It was genre defining. Not having a seamless experience of walking around a planet freely, launch into space, travel, and land seamlessly on another planet and walk around that planet freely just breaks the entire experience for me. IMO, in this day and age, this is NOT "open world". It's hard to believe they supposedly put so much effort into this, and this is what they have to show for it.

besides the uglyness and the jank this shit is fucking boring

This is the biggest L of the game. For all that Skyrim and Fallout 4 and 3 were jank and ugly at times they had fun. Fallout 4 despite how garbage the story was had some fun and good moments in side quests. For all that 3 had green good splattered all over the screen and ugly fucking NPCs it had fun moments and interesting points to push. For all that Skyrim had jank and bugs the game itself was fun.

But Starfield isn't. That is not something you can just wave away with "mods will fix it". You can play base Skyrim and New Vegas and even Fallout 3 and still have fun even if only with a few visual mods or even just bug fixes. Skyrim might be more fun with perk overhauls but it is still fun vanilla. If Starfield can't be fun out of the gate then there is no drive to improve it.

This planet shows the uniform nature of their generation better, to be fair to the game I am using TFC for these screenshots, so its less visible on the ground.

This is nitpicking, but the tri edges like this are a telltale sign of photogrammetry, since its a uniform topography. I doubt they re-topo'd all the environment stuff, probably just an automatic solve, hence the jaggy edges here.

There are honest to god floating point precision issues, and I'm at a pirate camp right next to the landing site. look at the gun.

So those hundred planets are all randomly generated deserts save for the capital? I was hoping at least it was not all deserts, but some being jungles, watery, swamp.

a lot of them are moons, which are mostly barren wastelands, but I also haven't gone to any of the planets with life yet, but I assume the trees and the like are distributed in the same manner.

Despite being contrarian shit bags, I still love you guys. I’m being 100% serious.
Despite all the retardation you have spouted in this thread and others I want you to know, from the bottom of my heart, that you are the dumbest nigger alive, and this post was incredibly gay. Please remove Todd's cock from your anus.

I think what makes this game feel so empty is the setting... Which is empty by design. A sci-fi setting with no interesting alien politics or cultures or planets to explore means you are left with gray deserts, and something so grounded means you don't have anything fun to fight.

Combat is also really hurt by the lack of gibbing and gore. Fallout but without being able to blow people apart is really unfun.

This game was delayed a year. It makes one wonder what state it was in last year

And the rumours were that the Redfall team wanted a delay until October to get the game ready and BGS wanted a delay until spring 2024 to do the same.

The reason is because Microsoft is forcing parity with the Series S. Every game from MGS MUST run on the Series S with the same features as the X and PC. Which is one of the reasons why Xbox isn't getting BG3; the S can't handle the split screen (neither can the X but that's for another thread).

On topic. Thank you to all the people posting pics and reviews, you're doing Gods work. Not that I was planning on even pirating this game for another year or so, but it's still fun to see.
