Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

I deem it fake and gay, one, the switch 2 or whatever its going to be, if it uses a mobile chip wont in any way be as powerful as a ps5, not even close, and two, square is working on one remake already, I don't think they would work on a remake of 10 when they obviously would most likely want the focus to be on the FF7 one imo.
I don't know, it's pretty safe to assume they're working on the FF9 remake while also doing FF7R, so if anything the most likely reason it could be fake is not because they're focusing on FF7R but because they're probably already working on FF9 too. It's hard to believe they'd have 3 remakes ongoing simultaneously.

As for how strong Switch 2 is going to be, there's some pretty powerful handheld devices out there, ones even stronger than Steam Deck, and probably not too far from PS5. I don't think Nintendo would do that though, it'd be way to expensive.

But keep in mind FF7R was a PS4 game, so the PS5 version probably isn't that much of a leap from it.

there are mobile chips that are pretty powerful yes, but those are usually for machines that go for around 1000 dollars, having in mind that the switch 2, if it is still a portable console, will most likely go around the 300 to 400 dollars range being around the power of the steam deck or a ps4 seems the most likely.
Also it will be an nvidia chip, so it will very likely rely on dlss so they may even pared down on raw power a bit for the sake of battery efficiency.

These leaks are bullshit and leakers are nigger faggots crying for attention.

Also, I don't want anything related to FFX from modern Square. Everything they produce are literal abortions.
You are right, but I still want to see the FFX stuff anyway. Worst case scenario I just boycott and review bomb it out of spite, and by some miracle maybe it can be good. I like FFX too much to not at least want to see them try, the original duology will still be there if they fuck up.

And to be fair, they handled the remasters pretty well, there was no censorship even in the most recent ports from a few years ago unlike their other games like FFVIII.

Fair, but given the abortion that was FF7 Remake, I don't want them anywhere near FF9 or FFX with remakes.

Modern mobile chips are quite capable of matching the PS5. That's nowhere near top of the line tech anymore. The only real question is whether Nintendo are willing to invest that much into actually making a capable system, not whether or not its possible. More than likely though, the chip will only be capable of that when docked, but will not be put to that much work when in handheld mode.

Will Nintendo up the resolution though? I feel like they won't...

720p with a modern chip would be great for very pretty games without needlessly killing the battery

Seems the Steam Deck is 1200x800, which helps give better battery life over the Asus Ally's 1080p

720p will suffice if they go OLED, but of course 1080p is deal. I don't think handhelds ever need to go higher, like those 4k phones and shit. 1080p on an OLED screen is more than enough forever basically.

Baten Kaitos HD reason fo no English voices

Bandai Namco comments on lack of English voice acting for Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster

Posted on September 3, 2023 by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch

Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster are bringing back the original GameCube RPGs with numerous updates, but there’s one key omission as they won’t come with English voice acting. Both titles did have a dub originally, but it won’t be included for the new Switch release.
Producer Koji Nakajima explained the decision in a recent interview with Nintendo Everything. He mentioned how during development, the team “tried to make adjustments on some of the expressions to match the current era”. This would have ultimately caused “discrepancies”.

Nakajima’s full words:
“In developing the remastered version, we tried to make adjustments on some of the expressions to match the current era. That’s why we made the difficult decision not to use English VOs for this remastered version, due to the discrepancies that will happen.”
When it comes to the first Baten Kaitos, the English dub wasn’t exactly well-received. Still, having the option – especially for the second entry in which things were ironed out – wouldn’t have been a bad thing. Some fans have speculated that rights issues may have prevented the inclusion of English voice acting in Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster, but it seems that wasn’t a problem.
Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster launches for Switch on September 14, 2023.

i dont understand what they mean by "current era". i played the games recently and they were just fine. i think its an excuse so they dont have to re-dub and re-cast everything.

maybe they’re referring to anime’s insane popularity in the west? And considering how a lot of English “creative talent” is striking right now- how much trouble that could give them should they pursue English translations- they might be trying to use the popularity of Japanese-dubbed shit as an excuse not to redub

When they mean current era, they mean SJW like pozzed shit for le current year

I mean if people are overwhelmingly watching anime subbed, why waste getting a dub together for a game? People can read.

I usually much prefer dubs even when they're shitty.
>even when they're shitty
So all dubs then?

Look, I'm no weeb, but even I can tell Japan puts a fuck-ton more effort into their voice-acting than the west does.. Like, how can you sit and watch shit like the cutscenes from MegaMan8/X4, or the entire Shenmue series and NOT fucking cringe?
