Did the ministry ever send July a cease and desist? Or would the fact that July is already on book 2 and made a good chunk of money be the reason why they went straight to suing? I ask because July seems so confident that he is going to win this. I'm no lawyer, but in my small brain I don't see a larger entity like this ministry(who may have a board of directors and investors) would be willing to spend the money and go straight to suing without being serious and fairly confident that they would win this.

When it comes to Vito/Masterson v July, I don't think July has any case here. I don't know much about Masterson, but Vito is pedo faggot and I would love for him to lose this just for that reason. Again not a lawyer, but any rando with a YouTube channel and 2 subscribers could claim to be part of "the media". If they are somehow able to pin the email on Vito/Masterson, I think all they would have to do is claim their channels are part of "the media" and claim they were doing some investigating reporting.

This got me curious to look into it, and from what I found the guy's hero name is ISOM (not his actual name), which is supposedly an acronym according to Eric July but he hasn't confirmed what it's actually an acronym for. The first thing that came to mind was "In Search of Meaning" as the story is about the guy trying to be a hero and giving up to live a more normal life, and others speculated similar things.

Which is why, you'll notice, I'm not taking the position Rippa has a slam dunk case (assuming he actually files one). That would be foolish based upon the history of how these things have played out.

However, I do think Dick and Vito fucked with him in various ways. That "we" statement from Dick, in relation to the charity e-mail, and all the tweet deletion that's been going on, is sussy as hell. Why say "we" and then pivot to the idea that this is somebody COMPLETELY unrelated to TDS/TBPITU/Dick/Vito? Doesn't that undermine the idea that this is some rando?

Does this whole thing feel greasy? Yes. Is it actionable in a way that could lead to the plaintiff prevailing? I have no fucking clue.

Regardless, if Rippa sues, there's gonna be milk, so I'm sure most people will be happy regardless of which side they take. Until the end, where I'm sure somebody is gonna be disappointed if they make the mistake of getting too emotionally invested.

Honestly, it's a pretty good video.

I dunno if it's a good legal argument, but it's a damn compelling argument that Vito and Dick are absolutely going out of their way to fuck with the guy. As you probably saw from the clip Null played, at one point Dick even admits he contacted the charity for the expressed purpose of fucking with Rippa's business.

What's leaving everybody scratching their heads is the why. The current theory is that Vito is assmad because July hasn't engaged with Vito's trolling as much as he wanted, his own comic didn't do nearly as well as July's, while Dick is trying to help his buddy.

The clip where Masterson and Rekieta laugh about the trademark lawsuit and Masterson claims he's known about the trademark for a while and, while he doesn't take responsibility, he claims this is revenge for July flagging his friend (is that the same Riley that Josh mentions?) is even worse imo.

Also, as for the reasons, my bet is clout chasing. July did engage with Vito last year. He had him on his show as a detractor, but he edited out the parts of Vito trying to shill his book in the re-upload. He didn't even mention Vito by name.

Masterson has been irrelevant since the Cuties incident. His only "big" connections are Ralph, Rekieta and EVS, all the middle-aged Howard Stern wannabes. EVS really propped him up when Dick posted his ISOM review.

Also, since people mentioned JDA, the guy is playing with fire again. He's been in full Vito defense mode since the news broke and even brought Puma Fist back on his last stream, prompting half of his guests at the time to just leave the stream.

After a few hours of calling the con a bust and PTP a degenerate drug dealer, Kelsey snapped about how he was starting to think this wasn't a "bit" by Malin at all. Push came to shove and Malin called Kelsey a parasite who never rowed the youtube oar with heart and only appears on the JACK show because he needs another handout. In response Kelsey quit the show and has since gone on to co-panel with "Graybeards" with old friends Aaron Lopresti and David Williams, leaving his former cohosts/Frog to sweep it up by saying that he just didn't get Malin's "kayfabe heel gimmick".

From Kelsey's perspective - his employer Allegiance Arts has tanked and his latest crowdfund has yet to clear 20K. Comicsgate is in its 6th/7th year (depending on your definition) and it still remains locked on a second-rate crowdfund platform that actively blacklists it. Despite being the most productive of the original Comicsgate creator set, Kelsey has the least to show for it. Jon Malin has got to be the worst person on the CG side of things and also an example of what Nietzsche was talking about. From his Kickstarter shit to this. Kelsey is a lot of things, but at least he does a lot of work, in a timely manner, for many CG and "anti-SJW"( all those groups, sub groups and individuals that don't claim to be CG, but are pretty much classified as CG by the mainstream at large) campaigns. Which helps CG as a whole more? Kelsey spending more time "grabbing an oar" on streams where he is liable to get stupid drunk and say/do dumb shit or actually working and putting out pretty good art for these campaigns? Does Kelsey really bring that much to the table as far as ideas and commentary on the culture war?
