Nation, in this context, is a group of people with common ancestry, language, and culture. In the scriptures, "the nation of israel" doesn't refer to a geopolitical state, but to the descendents (spiritual or otherwise) of Jacob, who God renamed Israel.

Why exactly do the Jewish need an exclusive, dedicated organization to protect their feelings anyway? Can you imagine if something like this existed for any other religion? People would think every member of that religion were crybabies. Imagine needing a global organization babysitting the world because your people can't take a joke or cause so much ire, they need their own protection. Literally just stop making people mad and you wouldn't need that protection.

It's also an ethnic group, a rather small one too. Muslims also have LOTS of lobby BS and are very protective of their religion. Don't they have CAIR or something even in the US?
Only Christians and Europeans are turning the other cheek non-stop.

Not really, it's just that a lot of people lack reading comprehension, historical knowledge and literary criticism skills. Once you have those covered, what's considered justified is pretty straightforward, minus some very minor contentions (e.g. can babies be baptized, or just adults?). But this is going very OT so I'll leave it at that.
