You mean it is fantastic? The Steam Discussions forum for Starfield is a complete mess.

I actually think that makes it more progressive. To me, nothing screams "progressive" more than effort box ticking asspats and a big fucking trophy that might look impressive but is just for participation. TLOU2 was super gay and annoying but it was not low effort and wore its heart on its sleeve. As you said, TLOU2's wokeness was there front and center, you can't escape it, it's basically wokeness the game. It's such a testament to coastal brain rot, I'm glad it exists as a reminder that everyone who bought the game is a massive waste of oxygen. Starfield's progressivism is in places it has no business being, just for the sake of visibility. If TLOU2 is Big Red, Starfield is Kamala Harris.Actually Starfield isn't that "progressive". I mean, it is very much so, but not the most.
TLOU2 was worse, and it was more obnoxious. In a way Starfield has failed even at being woke, because they have played their DEI credentials as hard as they could but the usual suspects who love it are not giving it that much praise because Todd hasn't killed the game even hard by pushing the woketardation even further. But they still got all the negatives of woke shit in the negative attention it is getting. There is a lot of white knighting for the game over it coming from corpo ass kissers and quite a few people want to play the "everyone who doesn't like it is a bigot" card but it isn't really working out.
Poetic, in a way, that even when it comes to DEI and ESG score box ticking Todd has gone for a low effort "it just works" fix.
To be fair eso retconned pretty much everything, it's not even the same setting really. Its like comparing tamriel in the daggerfall era to morrowind and oblivionI swear. Most of the racism from the dark elves been retcon out of the lore. Especially if you consider elder scrolls online canon.
What's funny is they shit on heelvs (rightfully I didn't really even notice the selector and the game is built on much more glaring issues) but if he were trans they'd praise his body. And of course now this. It's just seething about a small option but heaven forbid you just joke about people taking away role-playing options instead of going full censoring modet's such a complete and total nothingburger of a mod, but the fact trannies care shows how it is something that needs to be stamped out. The fact people even care what they think is baffling, and this culture of bowing to troons for screeching opreshun needs to end.
It kind of narrowed, but its all time peak is a wide margin. Damn. Turns out Bethesda really should have polished it more.Baldur's Gate III, a month-old game, has almost twice as many active players on Steam than Starfield.
Bethesda died. Not only their shitty engine hasn't been updated since the 2000s, their whole game design methodology is stuck in time.
Managerialism sucks the soul out of everything.Ship of Theseus.
Bethesda has the same name brand, and a few employees from back when, but it isn't the same company that made Morrowind or Skyrim. They have changed massively since then, even before MS bought them there had been big changes in the years after Skyrim's meteoric success. People leaving, new teams, a B studio...
And given the nature of AAA gaming you can bet your ass even Todd isn't in full control here. He is more of a glorified PR guy by now. A horde of faceless market research and writers were likely the ones pushing the things in the background and working on how to make Starfield happen.
Post some of the highlights if you canYou mean it is fantastic?
I read some of the slapfights, most are shitting on the wokeness, but there are a few reddit battleposters who sperg around and tell strangers to leave their trailerparks.
Other devs censor heavily, but they just let people bitch.
And I get it. This is the most annoyingly "progressive" triple A game I have ever seen.
It is in the realm of parody.
It’s not the pronouns. It’s faggots White knighting Bethesda for releasing a broken ass ugly game because it has Pronouns pissing people off. Fat fuck Rich from Reviewtechusa is rejoicing Dr Disrespect being blacklisted by publishers and's twitch for defending Hogwarts' legacy in the name of defending Starfield's and Bethesda honor.Starfield just has pronouns and instead of BG3's cunnygnomeboi it has abbos-niggas (Abbo-Niggeroth? kek) everywhere.
So - your ship has a "midpoint". This is calculated by taking the distance the furthest two points on the X, Y and Z axis, and finding where they intersect. For most ships, this will be approximately the middle of the ship - but if you create an asymmetrical abomination like the above, it's not. The Fat L has a midpoint that's above and to the left of the ship. The Fat L has an offset midpoint that is actually not within the ship, but in space.
Fun fact: enemy weapons and missiles target this midpoint. Which means when you're facing toward them, they can't hit you.
Edit: For future reference, you don't need a stack of HABS on top to make this work. I did that because I'm a Big Dumb Idiot who forgot he can use side/underside dockers. You could feasibly stick a giant fin on the top and side of any ship to make it work like mine (keep in mind, its more effective with smaller ships).
It still blows my mind how Star Fox 64 and Halo Reach somehow have better playing and looking space combat. This is just kingdom Hearts Gummi ship with ugly grim dark graphics.Someone on reddit figured out if you make your ship in an "L" shape, it becomes effectively immune to frontal damage.

It's Bethesda copying Elite Dangerous' space flight but removing the actual physics part of it. The few dogfights I did were incredibly boring without being able to disable flight assist like in Elite, you always are moving forward and you have to always face the enemy, so its just a game of chasing an enemy while the enemy runs away and then turns around to run towards you. Elite's combat because you can de-couple your flight direction, move laterally, vertically, and horizontally feels a lot faster and more like a space game, not a glorified plane. It also has actual energy management that isn't just a bar running out or just making one thing stronger. It still blows my mind how Star Fox 64 and Halo Reach somehow have better playing and looking space combat. So this is why the Rebels adopted the B-wing by the time of the Battle of Endor?Someone on reddit figured out if you make your ship in an "L" shape, it becomes effectively immune to frontal damage.

I fucking knew it they stole some structural assets too, notice the ship in the game and compare it to stroud parts. It's Bethesda copying Elite Dangerous' space flight but removing the actual physics part of it. Here is a random video of Elite Dangerous PVP to compare:
All their senior developers have been using the same tools since Morrowind, at this point they refuse to change simply because they would have to learn new tools. I think that's probably the root of their stubbornness, modding second, but Id could probably allow the same modability by not encrypting things and releasing tools, and loading game data from external plugin files like Bethesda's engine. All these people saying its too expensive to make an engine or that Bethesda's engine is fine are coping, there are solutions out of this but Bethesda won't take them because they would have to change. Now that they 'upgraded' Creation to Creation 2 I doubt they will touch anything engine side for another decade. Here's a thought I just had: Bethesda owns id now and has access to all of the idTech engines (all the open source ones are still accessible to them), especially idTech6 and idTech7, which are relatively modern and have the developers there to help them with any sort of modifications or optimizations they need to make this game. Why the fuck do they insist on using a fucking 20 year old engine they clearly have no idea how to use and have proven over and over is increasingly outdated for the type of games they want to make? If Ion Storm was able to make the RPG Anachronox in idTech2 and RAGE with idTech5 when it was still hot new tech in both cases, then in theory, having some people at id make a modified idTech7 so that the graphics looks good, the gunplay is solid and generally the game good with a good amount of exploration is a better idea than using the surplus of spaghetti code in Gamebryo that even Bethesda can't properly manage nowadays. Wouldn't fix the shit writing, but it would make it a solid 6 or 7 rather than the 2 or 3 it currently is in reality.
