I post this here, really interesting stuff from /v/ and it's the kind of thing that should be preserved since most of /v/ is a dumpster fire of porn. I would say it's more unusable than /pol/ or /gif/ at this point.

It basically explains why AAA games are so shitty and have been for a while, and also why you should either stick with indies or good ole' OSRS.

Does Bethesda hate it's players or are they fine with shoveling shit on their players' plates because they're still coasting on some insane, and misplaced, good will? I think it was the youtube channel Private Sessions or Patritian that talked about how Bethesda almost went under during the making of Morrowind. They talked about how Todd took every precaution since then to ensure that Bethesda and all the people there would never face troubles again. Thus began the time of over promising and under delivering, the Era of Todd and His Sweet Little Lies. To highlight how complacent Bethesda had gotten they played an interview where one of the higher ups talked about how there was something in Skyrim, I think, that they couldn't get to quite work and he stopped worrying about it because "modders will fix it". To further punctuate it they brought up problems with the UI on Skyrim followed by an interview with THE Todd Howard where the interviewer asked Todd what mods he uses and the first one he said was a UI mod.

I don't think Bethesda hates us. I think they just don't care because they don't need to care. People still pre-ordered Starfield after the debacle that was and still is Fallout 76. Todd charged $100 for people to get the game a few days early and people paid it. Todd increased the standard price of a AAA game by $10 to make it a whopping $70 for the standard edition and people bought it which means that fucking taboo is broken. If half of what the 4chan post says is true then that fully explains why the game feels so disjointed. There was no oversight for this game. There's no true director. There's only a collection of design documents that were sent out across the world. You can bet your ass this is how TES6 is gonna be made only biggererer.

Fallout 3 came out in the year 2008. If it was just updated into whatever new variation of the gamebryo engine we are now. It would be an overall better package then starfield. If you like the Bethesda style, then it is whatever. But starfield is bogged down by the stupid crafting shit they added in fallout 4 that is just ball crushingly annoying, but have now added the fact that there is no cohesive open world like The Capital wasteland, Skyrim, or even boston. Its seems like starfield feels like when a knock off of a bethesda game.

They couldn't even do the fucking crafting right, since we have to "track" the entire recipe instead of specific ingredients AND we don't know how much resources we have in our ship, or in fucking general - while buying crap.

mod makers have been carrying bethesda since morrowind
oblivion, EVERY version of skyrim and even up to fallout 76 had/has some of the same known bugs since morrowind
starfield still has the same clunky movement as fallout 3, just slightly more refined, and the environments still feel static and soulless like fallout 3 because theyve been using the same fucking engine since 2000 fuck i hate bethesda and they came THIS CLOSE to locking down and monetizing and killing mod making altogether

Don't forget how much the crafted item fucking weighs. For some reason they thought a container full of spaghetti should weigh almost as much as a fucking grenade launcher.

And then the "manufactured crafting items" weigh as much as an entire fucking spacesuit. And you need 20 of them, for one thing.
