I don't personally hate Labelle, and when I post here, I try (with varying degrees of success,) to keep my comments limited to a criticism of the comic itself.
The comic itself isn't very good, though. The biggest problem is that the characters are children and the comic seems to be aimed at children, but Labelle clearly has no idea how to write children or how to write for children. If all of the characters were suddenly ten to fifteen years older, the comic still wouldn't be good, (It's overly preachy drivel,) but it would at least be less creepy.

Labelle just seems to me like one of those people who doesn't ever hesitate to tell others how to live, but hasn't bothered to figure out their own life and issues before doing so.

Sophie Labelle is a highly narcissistic individual whose pathological need to be special has lead her down the road of creating cartoons, where she explains her worldview via a 11-year-old self insert. This worldview is a set of opinions that, in the end, is driven by her narcissism and explaining that she sees transgender people (and by extension her, which is the true point here) as something special that should be treasured more then others.

This does nothing to help transgender people, if anything it paints being transgender as a 'choice' and not the tragedy that it is, the tragedy of living in a body that feels wrong and where the only remedy is a prolonged hormonal therapy with side-effects and a final, costly medical operation.

On top of all that, the 20-something year old adult who draws these comics, clothes on numerous occasions like her 11-year-old self insert, which gives her entire set of beliefs, that can't stand on its own, a rather unpleasant aftertaste. Sophie Labelle hasn't shown on a single occasion that she has sufficient knowledge or experience to grasp the gravitas of this topic. All she ever seems to do is throw around buzzwords she picked up on the internet, without having more than just some shallow idea about the underlying psychology, what transgender people might really feel like or might go through - people who just want to live a normal life.

Sophie Labelle seems to be that what was (and still is) the flamboyant, limp-wristed gay stereotype, that many people still associate with homosexual men, the kind of person who can't pass up a single chance to emphasize that he's gay and therefore became a joke even gay people laugh about.

Hate is reserved for people who are monsters, or people you know personally and who did something to you that justifies this hate. Sophie Labelle on the other hand is a laughing stock, that surrounds herself by yes-men who gobble up the nonsense she is writing and drawing without thinking, which makes both of them at the same time incredibly funny and sad.
