Adam Johnston / YourMovieSucks / YourMovieSucksDOTorg / AnUnkindness - It's hip to fuck dogs.

Adam argued in the past that even if a film is a Nazi film that he would be able to look past that ideological and propagandist aspect of the film and still judge it on its film making merits. He doesn't practice what he preaches. The same caliber of film making found in the Prince of Egypt would be hailed by him as one of the greatest modern masterpieces of animation if it was about an Islamic fable instead of a Christian one. Even the music in the Prince of Egypt is powerful and moving; I dread to learn what he had to say about its soundtrack as a "MUSICIAN" himself.

Yeah, i forgot to mention that he also said that "the music was good", but then backtracks. His co-host says the music is good and Adam says "yeah" (10:40). And then Adam mentions it again later and says that the first song was the best and then follows up with that he doesn't connect with the movie "The music has been good so far, like the first song was the best one and I'm just like I haven't really connected with any of them. Like in the way that I have with a lot of Disney movies you know." (1:05:04) . Then when the movie is over his co-host says "if the soundtrack was garbage no one would like this movie" (1:37:42) Adam follows that up with "Deliver Us is a good song. The rest I just did not connect with." So yeah, it seems he doesn't even like the beautiful soundtrack.

Now that i am looking through the transcript (thank you Youtube) he gives a good TL;DR about what he thinks about the movie at the end of the video from about 1:35:28 till about 1:38:00 if anyone is interested. It seems to me he is just salty that people see The Prince of Egypt as one of the best animated movies ever made, while he wants that to be The Lion King.

"That was a bad story. It's exactly how I felt about it when I watched it when I was 13."
"It's fine and just it's not for me and it's dumb."
"Most people just have this weird appeal to authority and this movie is considered a classic and if you'd, you know, have to like it because it's a classic... it was in the Bible... I think most people are just subservient."

"It's four years after the Lion King and like not even comparable. Do I even have to say anything? The quality of the songs, the writing, and the story, and the animation... it's all just so much better."
"Some weird distracting voice acting performances in this movie too."
"It's very unexceptional. It was very expensive. It was very uhm... showy. It was very... uh... it had a lot of spectacle but it's not like some masterfully executed film. Like you better fucking have something that looks like this if you spent that much money on it, right? That's the bare minimum."
"Deliver Us is a good song. The rest I just did not connect with. The story is shit. The story is like really, really bad."

The Lion King is a good movie but there were only two great songs in it (Circle of Life and Be Prepared), the others are good or okay, like I Just Can't Wait to be King is the only one that comes close to those two.

The Prince of Egypt had more great songs (Deliver Us, Through Heaven's Eyes, and The Plagues). Like there was only one song that was really weak (Playing with the Big Boys Now).

It says a lot about how petty Adam is. Like you have a right to dislike something heavily popular, but it's so transparent Adam is doing it out of bad faith due to people liking it more than The Lion King and it being a religious movie. Which it really is a stretch to call the movie where god killed firstborns to be Christian Propaganda. Hell Moses hates the role he is playing in all this due to a personal conflict.

It makes me dread what he'd think about Jesus Christ Superstar.

If Adam is still going to bring up The Lion King, then maybe he should put all that tard-rage into his part 2 instead of leaking that shit onto other videos where no one gives a fuck about The Lion King.

Eventually if he keeps doing this comparison bullshit with other movies people adore, everyone is going to get sick and tired of his bullshit.

He actually did a watch-along for it on his watch-along channel 5 months ago. I believe he watched the movie for the podcast he has with IHateEverything and Ralphthemoviemaker
Holy shit, how many fucking channels does he have? Is he like Hasan and his 50 fucking clip channels?
They have to be the most fucking anally ass-blasted people on the planet. If chat is enjoying themselves and it's not a bother to the streamer, then what is the fucking problem?
I remember one time I decided to watch Vinesauce on twitch and after one fucking comment about the game I got a time out. I don't remember if it's true, but I heard Vinny's mods are furries. I guess that's what I deserve for watching a streamer

Even if the Lion King is better in every facet, so what? Okay, there's a superior film. What's wrong with giving both their due?
Well Adam's opinion on it is so biased and even religious at times that it comes across as creepy, which explains his myopic explanations on other animated movies during the 80s, 90s and 2000s that try to compete against Disney or Pixar.

TERF rant(not that anyone here is a feminist)

What a fucking loser. A few years ago he was saying how he was glad his videos were a bit too edgy for the typical socially progressive fucking cow crowd but it looks like sub-par nigger dick has conditioned him into being the same exact shit. Railing against Drinker for his right wing chud audience was just the start, I predict a trooning soon.
He also said that only Christian people will like the movie and that it is Christian propaganda
God forbid you use Christian mythology to make an entertaining film. As someone who isn't very religious this is the kind of mindset anyone with half a brain grows out of by eighteen.

Christians tell homosexuals that their lifestyle of dressing like animals and getting their asshole pozzed is bad and they seethe about it the rest of their lives.
It is entirely possible to watch religious content as an atheist and still enjoy it, by viewing "God" and "Jesus" as fictional characters, and by accepting that within the world of the content, "God" and "Jesus" have power and influence and such. I consumed plenty of Christian media as a kid and it never made a dent in my skepticism.

Why is "Prince of Egypt" propaganda, but "Lion King" isn't dangerously conditioning children to believe that big talking lions will appear in the sky?
No man I played Darksiders on Xbox and kept seething about Christian propaganda as I was slicing up demons.

Also if we are talking about what is more harmful Lion King turned a generation of impressionable youths into animal fuckers. Sounds like Prince of Egypt might be unironically better for the soul.

If he didn't suck Disney's dick for using The Lion King as his religion, he wouldn't be such a shitty fatass critic, but I'm just sounding :optimistic: about an alternate reality

I'm sure Adam watches movies with Zeus or Thor without having to constantly say "Well actually we know lighting comes from electricity in the air, so there is no sky daddy throwing the lightning!"

I like "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" as its own song (and sung by Elton John)...not so much in the context of the movie. "Deliver Us" is fucking amazing, the whole opening of Prince of Egypt establishes the setting and tone so well...until you get to the Baby Moses' wild roller coaster ride in the river.

I rewatched the movie today with that YMS commentary track and i had to mute him a few times. He basically went into the movie already hating it because it is a "Christian movie". People in his chat and youtube comments pointed out his bullshit as well. As you get further into the movie you are met with more religious themes, which means that Adam started spouting more and more negative shit.
That's pretty hypocritical of Adam, since he's usually a "death of the author" kind of person who lets the art speak for itself. Can't say I'm all that surprised though, since he's gotta get those edgy atheist brownie points. And yeah, the 3d visuals in Prince of Egypt haven't aged well but goddamn the presentation still holds up.

He only said this because you get taught in film school that Triumph of the Will is one of the greatest films of all time. He's probably never seen it but he has to uphold the argument because his film school teacher, who taught YMS his entire life philosophy, said it was so.

He has no intelligent, original thoughts in his head. He is just a corpulent mouthpiece for pretentious film school teachings.

Does this count as Adam indirectly taking shots at the efap and Mauler? I don't know or care about the name of the person sperging about pronoun, but I know he is a frequent collaborator with Mauler.
In a way, yes. Though that british dude is way spergier and emotional in his somewhat anti-globohomo rants than mauler (and his audience by that extent) could ever be, so maybe not?
And also, can I point out how much of a tranny janny faggot the owner of that channel has become? Checked the comment section I saw some responses of him saying how he blocked X and Y user because of muh twansphobia and right-wing content.

The thing is that Exodus isn't strictly a Christian story it originated in Judaism and carried over to both Christianity and Islam. Moses is also revered in Islam under a different name much like Jesus. I do think Adam would shit on Judaism and Islam if he could he's just aware that he'd suddenly start getting shit on by his audience and it's not worth it. Whereas shitting on Christianity is old hat at this point. Most atheist groups publicly don't shit on Islam because they're terrified of getting murdered in the street for it.

I think his abject hatred for anything Christianity adjacent comes from how he spent much of his youth in the Youtube Atheist sphere and was personal friends with The Amazing Atheist. Another very prominent factor though is Adam is a flaming homosexual and he has spent his entire life dealing with the reaction that brings. So now that he has a bit more power in society he feels emboldened to shit on everything tangentially related to his former oppressor class like an animated film about a legend from 3000 years ago.

Reading through this Prince of Egypt discussion reminds me of when, a few years ago on the podcast, he, Ralph and IHE were answering a question about what streaming platform they prefer.

Adumb-dumb said he liked HBO Max since they have all of Moral Orel, amongst a few other reasons.

He then asked if the guys had seen Moral Orel and essentially went "Ah dudes, you have to watch it because it totally takes a massive shit on Christians and Christianity". I also remember him making a similar statement when they were talking about Xavier Renegade Angel.

After having since watched all of Moral Orel, if all Adum got out of it was "haha Christians are just a bunch of idiot assholes" then he missed/glossed over so fucking much. The "Christians are hypocrites" is just like, the literal surface of Moral Orel lmaooooo. What a fukken smoothe brain gay idiot fat

Did he even watch the same show? XRA was far more about making fun of new age spiritualism and pretentious retards who have a saviour complex than anything to do with Christianity.
My mistake. I meant he made a similar comment about Moral Orel being le epic Christian dunk, during the discussion about XRA
