Fascinating little video on a game you can no longer buy digitally (why would you?) and has seemingly killed a great small studio who were behind the Project Cars games. The guy who made this video worked on the game and it's just so sad to hear him go over how everything went wrong due to bad management.

It's insane to know that a studio actually gives a damn about what Twitter and Reeesetera think. I mean was it out of the game's budget to have focus groups?

I always knew this game was a shitty wokefest of a game but...wow. I always knew how stupid and arrogant these people were but seeing it like this still somehow shocks me.
It's also absurd that they made the game as babyish as possible in order to sell it to children. I mean that kind of model would sort of make sense on a shitty phone game but on a PS4 game, really?
That 3v3v3 multiplayer component sounded horrendous and I am very glad it never came out. No sympathy for Slightly Retarded Studios. They had something great with the first two Project CARS games and they pissed it all away with this and Project Cars 3 to pander to troons and retarded children who are too busy playing Asphalt and GTA anyway. I hope EA dismantles them and makes them a support studio for Need For Speed or better yet, make Ian Bell seethe and force them to make Shift 3 just for kicks

The comment about making the player feel good all the time and not letting you fuck up also applies to NuSaints, which had, among other things, bikes that would just plow through trucks as long as the player was driving them.
Also some older games like Sleeping Dogs which had awful driving.

Which is possibly even dumber in a sandbox game like Saint's Row, where having your character get launched into the air after you crash and ragdoll into the pavement is part of the fun you can create. It can be obnoxious if it happens too easily in difficult missions, but having everything be too easy is just dull.

At this point I'm not even sure if management in places like this even consider focus groups. The real stinkers always seem to be the result of management who is entirely self-assured that they know best, and that there's no need to do anything beyond what they say. "I saw an article on that site, what's it called? Kotaku! It was about 'non-binary' characters. We should put one of those in our game! Make it the protagonist! Then they'll write articles about our game."
