I didn't realize that place was alive still. I thought he killed it back in December.
It is a sad shadow of what it was in terms of engagement. People have migrated to spliter servers hosted by prior members or just left entirely. Mostly the latter. Potentially Criminal Sean's server is a hub for refugees and seems a lot less autistic.

Funnily enough, LOCALS was a lot bigger in terms of interactions than DISCORD was, but now it is about on par. I attribute that to the non-structure of LOCALS (no channels or easily accessible history) and the new audience of Depp and Murdaugh fans who didn't know what DISCORD was or were afraid of it.

Recently, Nick opined that he wished there was a VC function to LOCALS, and he has asked for it. This is amusing becuase when he shut down the DISCORD he said that there would be retards screaming in VC or using sound boards so you couldn't understand them.

What is the difference?

1. LOCALS is much less work to manage and moderate. The unteractionS are ephemeral ans consolidated. TOS violations can be lost in a flurry of messages and are not easily recoverable.

2. LOCALS people are the sycophants he wants to talk to.

3. VC is not as easily loggable as text.

If he does go to VC, there is an interesting AI TTS transcription module that another person on the Farms demo'd. It would be interesting to work on a ?Panaures? I do not speak greek...

From what I remember, he made this woman plead guilty from the get go too. What he was trying to do was to try and get her a lightened sentence but the judge didn't buy since the crime was fraud and she hired a non public defender (Nick). Nick then passive-aggressively retorted back at the judge at the lift that he was pro bono. The judge now presides over his lawsuit with Monty.

You are correct. It took a while to find the article again but here is an archive.

“This large amount of theft is no longer considered property crimes,” Judge Fischer told Daniel. “You have devastated two families.”

The judge said Daniel had used her place of privilege to commit the crimes and rejected the defendant’s claims to have taken responsibility for her actions.

“You didn’t even plead guilty to all the things you were accused of. You have not taken full responsibility, but you will,” Fischer said before pronouncing the sentences.

Ah. Guess I'm an idiot then..

Also lmfao I hope the judge goes hard againts him, what a faggot.

That is definitely a grift considering the extended family's resources, though perfectly legal.
That's what I was getting at. Utterly pathetic to take a Section 8 spot or subsidy when you come from money a 50th of the size of what his family purportedly has (and if they donated/committed $18M to any single undertaking, they do). Bank tellers don't make a ton but they aren't section 8 poor, particularly not with a perfectly useless useful human grown person in the household who could have contributed. Tl;dr: stealing from the poor to cushion the rich. Dishonorable.

So, "the voucher moves with you" is interesting. If the moving benefit existed around 2003 when they married, they may have used it for some time after graduation. That is definitely a grift considering the extended family's resources, though perfectly legal. IIRC Nick's first job out of college was as a bank teller which is low pay. It could even explain why Kayla never got a job after graduating - to keep their income low enough to qualify for Section 8.
His parents, perhaps, wanting to teach him responsibility? I know moneyed people who have half a clue how destructive it can be wanting their children to learn fiscal responsibility. I am not sure how I feel about these wealthy people using public welfare as a schoolmarm for their bratty children, but I admire the sentiment of not wanting them to be total arses.
There is a very long waiting list (5-8 years) for Section 8 housing in MN, most likely he lived in a complex that offered Section 8 housing because the rent is typical much lower. Even having the opportunity to get added to the waiting list is difficult because it opens up randomly and you would need to check it constantly before you can get on the waiting list for an opening. Having to live among the disgusting poors also comes with a steep discount, and for someone born with a silver spoon up his ass saying he “lived in Section 8 housing” is a clever way of poverty-larping as one for lower class street cred. He is playing word games to make it sound like it’s a bigger deal than it is, he just lived in an apartment complex that accepts Section 8 vouchers. He probably bragged to all his rich friends that he was living in the ghetto.

To put in perspective how dumb the elevator shit was, there are only three judges in Kandiyohi County. Which means there's a 33% chance the clerk's computer is gonna select the one that thinks he's an asshole. And that's assuming the other two don't have a low opinion of him either.

Nick might not care, but any prospective client he takes on sure as hell might.

IMO, it's a very a good thing he's not really practicing law anymore.

Is Cecil's girlfriend really named Juju though? Or at least that's her nickname? If so, that's kinda funny, considering Cecil has beef with Dick masterson.

Not sure, which is why I purposefully left it out to avoid confusion.

First time I've ever seen her live. Half the time when they talk about Cecil's gf, I'm not sure if they are being facetious in a Snuffleupagus situation.

I want to make a formal request, given the Halloween Wallpaper competition that is going on, that you or anyone else who wants to engage in such an undertaking modify this brilliant piece of art in the following way and submit it for the contest.

Make them all look like Hellraiser Cenobites.
Drexel = Butterball
Nick = Pinhead
Andrew = Chatterer
Coomalot = ???

I think it would be great but I am a terrible artist and my wife is too busy. I reformatted it to the required dimensions below. Just putting it out there and I hope one of your glorious art autists can get it done. I want to see this in the background during October.

Damn, she destroyed a 50 year old family business, stole $390k in cash, spent around $900k on credit cards, blamed it all on finding out her minister husband was gay, and Nick Rekieta took the case pro bono to help her try to get off without prison time???

I'm glad it failed because this was a shitty story to read about. She deserved prison. The idea she could swindle a dozen people and then ask the court instead of jailtime to give her classes to help her become a counselor is insane. Nick bitching after justice was served is unbecoming.

I think that incident has become somewhat relevant again. Not because it shows Nick trying to ambush somebody (it doesn't), but rather because it shows what a shit judge of character Dick is, and how his influence over Rekieta could cause all sorts of problems.

Dick in 2020: "Hey Nick, bring Zoom on!"
Dick in 2023: "Hey Nick, bring Vito on!"

Why anybody listens to Dick is beyond me.

Don't take it personally. As this thread has amply shown, he regularly ignores good advice from everybody. I think he listens to Dick the most. That's why that incident happened, and that's why he's palling around with Vito now.

Incidentally, near the end of the stream. Gator calls in and shares the news story of Zoom calling the little girl on a Ring camera. Based on what he told me during a phone conversation I had with Nick after that stream, I think Gator helped drive the point through Nick's thick skull. He would have saved himself a lot of aggravation if he had listened to people earlier though,

Timestamped:

1st off, i thought everyone involved in the ppp grudge match promised they didn't know who zoom was when that happened. so Nick, or dick would have no reason to assume he was a pedo. Josh straight up called out @suicide2020 for even suggesting as much, pretty sure he even made a video about it and everything. so unless josh is tripling down on lying its obvious that whole thing couldn't have been avoided. Pretty sure Null even banned the guy for it, so if he's revealing the guy was right all along thats fucked, 3 years later you banned a guy for something you knew was true? even devoting an entire video to arguing something you behind the scenes knew was actually right?

2nd off, let's say nick just doesn't want zoom on because he doesnt want more assholes coming on because dick demands it, especially after Dick sperging out so hard he became a pink wojak, you really think Nick wouldn't be next on the chopping block? This was basically the worst night of dicks entire life and you really think he wouldn't be yelling at nick if he tried to deny him his pedo on that night of all nights? Nick would have been yelled at more that night than he had been in the last 20 years.

he lives in a county so small that there are only 3 judges and he's easily in the top .01% for the county just based on his youtube money, you know for a fact everyone in that courthouse must have hated him since his first year as a lawyer. think about how much people despise the paul brothers and imagine how much worse they hate trust fund/e-celeb types in a small place like Kandiyohi. Monty probably had everyone in the courthouse begging to take his case once they heard he was going after Nick. Not only is it open and shut, Nick's trying to bigtime everyone with his big shot lawyer, Nick's like a stereotype out of a comedy movie of a rich douchebag: the trust fund, the big city lawyer, the muscle car, the huge staff, the plastic wife, the nonfunctional penis.

Any third party would immediately side against him and thats not even counting the fact that i'm sure town gossip has made sure anyone in the county isn't impartial.

they didn't know who zoom was when that happened
How the fuck Dick, a guy who was constantly on TRR during its heyday, didn't know who Zoom was? Zoom was on Kumite, Andy Warski's show, Metokur's show, TRR. Dick wasn't sektur adjacent or barely involved in the drama. He was in the middle of this IBS shitshow week after week. Nick also became very involved in those parts of youtube with the Tonka drama, both before and after the fight. You might say "They didn't know Zoom was a pedo" and that might be true but I do not believe for a second that they, and at the very least Dick, were unaware of who he was.

These people try to weasel out by saying "Oh I barely know those people, I don't even like drama" but I am not giving Dick the benefit of the doubt personally.

I see some people talking about how he's never taken a case to trial, but I distinctly remember him complaining about how he lost a trial for some woman who the judge sentenced her to the maximum after preaching from her soapbox (and getting facts about the woman wrong) a few years ago.

I can understand making up victories but I don't really see anyone making up a humiliating defeat where his client was given a decade in prison.
That didn't go to trial. She pled guilty.

I was especially unimpressed with this absolutely bizarre statement by the judge:
“You didn’t even plead guilty to all the things you were accused of. You have not taken full responsibility, but you will,” Fischer said before pronouncing the sentences.
The fuck? That's LITERALLY THE POINT of a plea deal. You're not supposed to be punished BECAUSE you took a plea deal.

She also reamed out the defendant for even daring to have a lawyer. If that had any influence on her decision that's outright judicial misconduct.

That said, the defendant was a genuinely vile piece of shit and definitely deserved some time. It was a ridiculous strategic decision to try the moon shot of getting none at all.

He was trying to get her no time in prison AT ALL. He should have also said that in the actual courtroom to preserve the issue for appeal, not in a fucking elevator.

don't ask me ask josh. like i said, he literally banned a guy for calling him out on that whole "dick didn't know Zoom" excuse.

OTOH, I'm immediately suspicious of anyone who makes their online personality as 'being a dad' (in bio, ____ dad, dad anything, etc).

The fact that you can jam your cock into a woman's snatch and impregnate her really isn't a qualification for anything. It doesn't even qualify you as a sperm donor, because even retarded people can have kids.

But I suppose when you've failed at everything else you've put your mind to, you've got to find something to boast about.

"Last year, I was a world class e-beggar, persuading leather-titted wine moms to empty out their purses to fatten my wad and buy me a Mustang"

Ah, that'll almost certainly be why he posts the dad thing. It's actually a pretty smart grift. It sends a message to your tips-for-fap crowd that you aren't commitment-phobic, so when the old biddies are rubbing one out while watching Rekieta and Coomalot, they can fantasize that one day, Nick will leave that young skank with the ruined vajayjay, and then me and Nick can finally be together...

They were both at least somewhat familiar with Zoom, so to say they didn't know him is BS. We know this because Zoom called in during the Tonkasaw stream, and Nick, Dick, and Zoom also called into an an aftershow hosted by the Killstream. That was months before the show with PPP. It's absolutely not the first time Nick or Dick talked to Zoom.

(Note: I can not find media of the afterstream ATM, but it probably still exists).

Now, did they specifically know Zoom was a pedo? That's a different question. However, PPP warned them early on in the stream that Zoom is a pedo, and said he would leave if Zoom were brought on. Dick called him a chickenshit for that (little did he know what was coming...). Null also says he warned nick about Zoom before the stream, and I believe Null. You could argue it's not entirely unreasonable to brush aside something PPP says in the heat of him going in on Dick, but when Null tells you something about somebody it's probably a good idea to listen. He's a straight shooter. For whatever reason (likely to satisfy Dick) Nick brought Zoom on anyways.

The whole thing was a cringe fuckup. Dick wanted Zoom on to help bully PPP, but he didn't get that. Instead he got Zoom on after PPP had left, and rather than go in on PPP, Zoom called Dick fake and doxed his Malibu Barbie "Mansion." Dick got BTFO'd, and Nick had to spend hours editing video to clean up mess so Susan wouldn't yeet him for doxing.

How did we get on this Zoom tangent? Oh, yeah... ambushing. I wouldn't advise Null going on a stream with Nick to discuss Vito or Drex. Even if we assume Nick isn't inclined to set up an ambush on his own initiative, you can bet Dick would try to cajole him into doing so. Dick is that type of faggot. I think Null could hold his own, but nothing productive would come out of such a conversation. Dick and Null are worlds apart on the pedo issue, and I think Drex would just make chimp noises (MUH DICK!!!) and try to stick it to Null with the same tired-ass Blockland stories we've all heard a million times.

I am fairly certain that he went to a state school, but I would have to dig back through the thread.
I think I thought so, too, and at one point a few months ago I'm pretty sure I broke down its ranking and strengths, etc.

Anyway, just (re-)checked: he went to Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. It is ranked by US News between ##127 and 166 among regional universities in the Midwest. Acceptance rates reported range from 81-92%. Per Niche.com, it ranks #26 of 37 for "best value" in MN (30th percentile) and is apparently fairly safe.

His school (SMSU) ranks 31 of 34 ranked schools in MN.

Also, I am not sure what difference there is between an English and Creative Writing degree. Maybe the former reads most literature?

His LinkedIn states his degree was in literature and creative writing. The SMSU website does not list this/these as a major*, but I suppose it could have changed.

* there is an English BA, a literature minor, a creative writing minor, and a communications arts and lit degree (though that is a BS, not a BA, and his linkedin says BA)

Typically a degree in literature is very different than a degree in creative writing. A lit degree is studying and analyzing literature, writing analysis, going in-depth. A creative writing degree (unsurprisingly) focuses on developing skills in writing one's own fiction.

Those who choose to study English will be focused more on the study of existing literature. They will learn to analyze, interpret, and understand a variety of different types of writings. Those who choose to pursue a Creative Writing degree will be focused more on the generation of new literature.

As one school puts it:
Literature Students Will Learn to:
  • Write clear and well supported arguments about literary and/or other cultural texts
  • Demonstrate knowledge of diverse literary traditions across historical periods, geographic regions, and/or social contexts
  • Analyze literary works compellingly in contexts informed by literary criticism and/or broader regions, and/or social contexts
Creative Writing Students Will Learn to:
  • Write with an awareness of the literary traditions within which they are working
  • Write with attentiveness to form and genre
  • Write a sustained creative project that demonstrates originality and attention to language

Someone mentioned he had gone to community college first - if so, it's odd he went to the school he did, as if he had gone to certain community colleges, he should have been able to go to the University of Minnesota, which is #62 nationally (not regionally), and #23 in public universities, and higher for STEM.

His school (SMSU) ranks 31 of 34 ranked schools in MN, whereas U MN twin Cities ranks 1.

The fuck? That's LITERALLY THE POINT of a plea deal. You're not supposed to be punished BECAUSE you took a plea deal.

It doesn't sound as though there was an actual deal negotiated though. I've been a party to negotiated plea deals. You know what you're getting before you stand up before the judge. Defence counsel and the prosecution come to an agreement about what the penalty will be. They run it past the judge to make sure the judge can live with the proposed arrangement and then it all goes through on the nod. Prosecution gets their conviction, defendant gets to either stay out of jail, or they get a much shorter sentence than they would have got if they pled not guilty but were then convicted.

So what the hell was going on here? Nick clearly hadn't negotiated a plea deal. It seems as though he'd just suggested that she plead guilty and he was going to do her plea of mitigation. Because if he had a proper plea deal, he would have known what kind of sentence she was going to get. That's why you enter into them -- to avoid any surprises and to save the costs of a pointless trial.

All that said, it looks as though the prosecutor had her bang to rights. What was Nick bringing to the table in respect of a plea deal? The avoidance of a trial? Courts will generally reduce the sentence in respect of a guilty plea anyway, so if the tarriff for a particular offence is 5 years in jail, a guilty plea will get it reduced to perhaps 4. I don't understand why Nick was blindsided by this sentence at all. Had he even talked to the prosecutor?

This is just an example of an incompetent lawyer learning on the job.
