Men have bigger rib cages than women. A 42" band would suggest like a 38" chest if he did that old "add 4 inches to your underbust" approach, and 38" is a small in menswear sizing. People like this like to point out that not everyone who uses a wheelchair needs it 100% of the time. But the varying reasons people with partial mobility issues will use a wheelchair will also have issues with the strength and dexterity needed to ride a motorcycle.

You do have a point but personally I think if you're too weak to stand or walk normally, you shouldn't be trying to ride or pick up a bike. My health is pretty decent for my age and I still refuse to get a bike more than 450lbs.
