I think something like a trans crisis line is important, but the more that comes out about TLL, the shadier it gets. Some of this shit can't just be explained by it being a fledgling org. I wonder if there's any alternative out there other than national suicide prevention or the Trevor project?

The thing is that they're accusing us of the same thing that they are doing. They say that we discriminate without educating ourselves and that we seek to just attack because they are trannies. That couldn't be further from the truth. We didn't even know what the TLL was until Greta went to @Null's crib strapped and scared the shit out of his mom. Of course we would be digging after that. If there was no smoke then we wouldn't even notice this shitty faux-charity. How the hell can we be making shit up when we are using caps of their own words?

We literally have evidence that they provided false information on tax forms, that this service, years in, is active less than half the time, almost just 1/3 of the time, that they conspired with a caller to coordinate filing reports against Kiwi Farms to get our website shut down, the list goes on. But they would rather defend someone who literally went to another person's house unannounced to confront them because they got mad at the internet. No one on this website has ever gone to a cow's house, and if they did, they would likely be banned for being an unstable creep. They are defending a non-profit whose directors will use their personal time and the donations of donors to go to multiple conferences many times a month rather than use them on responding to calls, even indicating that they spent months not even filling in to take calls.

This "charity" doesn't meet the standards of the American Association of Suicidology. Not accredited. Further, The organization itself fails at reporting accurately the nature of the organization. The thing that really galls me about this ridiculous project isn't just that Trans Lifeline is understaffed and apparently criminally mismanaged. That's awful, but it's not the worst thing that it does. It's that the service actively discourages its client base from turning to other, better-staffed, more reputable crisis services instead - even in the face of Trans Lifeline itself being utterly unreachable, which it seems to be at least 50% of the time - because the cishets just don't understaaaand. It peddles a bunch of scaremongering bullshit about how trans people simply can't trust any other crisis service out there to help them, and that if they dare try to talk to anybody else about what they're going through they'll be shamed and rejected. Greta and company are all but saying, in their Facebook posts and on their Twitter and on Trans Lifeline's website and even its mission statements, that police officers and medics and psychiatrists and the staff at those dirty stinking cishet suicide prevention helplines will tell trans people in crisis to DO IT FAGGOT the minute they find out that they're trans.

This is, to say the least, not fucking helpful. Exclusionary politicking never is, but it's definitely not if you're running a bloody suicide hotline. Surely, Greta - fucking surely! - the aim of the game is to stop vulnerable people killing themselves? Please tell me you're not so keen on keeping precious smol trans snowflakes free from dirty cishet corruption that you'd rather they were dead than saved by a straight person.
