Greta Gustava Martela / Kjel Anderson & Nina Chaubal / Niraj Chaubal - Stole $350k+ from Trans Lifeline, kill count of 2+ from negligence, Founders of Sisterwood/La Zorra.

Rate me optimistic, but I still think the help line idea could work. The world seems full of unemployed, lonely troons at the moment. They'd recognize each other's problems. They love to talk. Granted, they mostly love to talk about themselves, but if you gave them the kind of slow, step-by-step 'people' training like you give high-functioning autists, you might end up with an effect force.

I'm not being funny.
I think a trans-specific suicide help line would def not be out of the question.

This particular help line seems like A) a scam and B) to be doing more harm than good.

I'd have to disagree for one simple reason: Trannies are still people, and their problems aren't unique.

When you begin to segregate people based on perceived differences you aid no one. You make the segregated into these weird misunderstood figures by normies, and you make normies into evil agenda pushing villains by the snowflakes.

Does some random schmuck on a suicide hotline understand "Gender Dysphoria"? No, probably not. But they understand family not accepting you for your choices, for getting passed over at work for perceived slights, for friends taking advantage of you, for abusive behavior, for addictions, for depression and anxiety and fears and worries and mental illnesses and lack of self worth and everything else that makes a person who they are.

If everything on this hotline was done via text with gendered pronouns banned, what would make these people different? Absolutely nothing. Because it's still the same problems every person in the entire world could possibly face. Just call the suicide hotline and stop acting special. If you're going to kill yourself unless you can talk to another tranny about things everyone in the world deals with, then you're not going to kill yourself. You're just looking for attention, and the operators you're speaking to just want to feel good about themselves.

This, essentially.
Breaking it down into super special groups just means you're more of a niche thing with less opportunities for funding. For a nonprofit, that's not smart. You need something broad that all kinds of people can put weight behind.
It's not a great idea to start with, and it's being managed by a cretin. It's a doomed project regardless of what they do from here.

.
My bigger thing is the people on actually official suicide help lines are properly trained for many issues. TLL "staff" aren't properly trained and are allowed to work more in a week then should be allowed. The best their staff can do is relate it to what they went through when they came out or started transitioning. That is not usually helpful for someone in the desperation mindframe of calling someone anonymous for help.

Absolutely the help line could work. It's just not going to work with Greta putting her own ego before the needs of TLL's stakeholders.

Founders either tend to grow into the role and quickly acquire a comprehensive skillset or they "lead" the organisation for a very short time before being replaced by someone who is up to the task. Part of the role of the board is to recognise when an organisation has outgrown its founder and replace them at the helm without ruffling too many feathers.

Greta looks like he's gonna eat his hubby in these pics. Gross. I forgot to post these yesterday.

Just disprove the shit we are saying and we will have to shut up. Calling us trolls because we tell the truth is weak. It literally doesn't matter, though, I hope more people jump on their bandwagon. It will be more people to laugh at later on.

It makes sense as a response. Given the nature of the organization and the fact Twitter is serving as ground zero for all this, calling critics "trolls" is all TLL needs to do to dictate the conversation.

Our motives don't even matter. Either they're doing everything above board and can prove it or they aren't and they just want to shoot the messenger. If they're doing nothing wrong then they have nothing to worry about when they are investigated by neutral parties.

The questions we're asking are ones which the community itself should have been asking long ago - and possibly would have had they not been afraid of the backlash over questioning the actions of the whacktivists.

If people want to donate to a pissy little vanity project which promises much but delivers little, then that's their prerogative - but they should at least be making that decision based on facts and not on a narrative woven by Greta and Nina. That they are having trouble securing grants two years on says much about how the organisation is viewed by potential grant givers and that should be a red flag for both their donors and their volunteers.

I think this is why the questions haven't been asked. The trans community on social media is pretty tight knit. They sorta need one another because jut about all of them have been disowned by at least one person who was close to them in the past and some have lost many people they loved. It is hard because it starts to feel like a second fam and people don't wanna fuck that up. I don't expect that there will be a call out when people start to see that this charity is doing more for the ownership than the people who rely on it, I assume there will be a silent acknowledgement. I mean its just a dumb suicide line to most the people, why make that a hill to die on, especially when all facts align against it.

If you look at this collection of tweets from @Hellfire they were asking these questions. Almost two years ago.

Before looking at the dates on these I didn't even realize they were that old, because they're describing EXACTLY the same situation that's going on now.

Except now we know that instead of fixing these problems, Greta is blowing all the money to fly around the country harassing people he doesn't like, which seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the organization's claimed mission.

I have heard of wanting to eat Indian once in a while, but this is just ridiculous.
Look at Nina, I do not know if it is just autism or if they are afraid they are about to be consumed by a mass of pale white dough.

Yeah, but they won't take the next step and actively condemn TLL because they fear the consequences. At best they'll become pariahs and at worst they'll be blamed for destroying an essential trans resource.

Even condemnation from established organisations has limited impact because it can be spun as them wanting to "protect their own turf". TLL and its supporters will always cast the organisation in the role of victim. It's failures will always be attributed to others, whether it's bad allies, trolls, "the right", or the invisible pink unicorn. It will never be acknowledged that it's a poor concept badly executed or that it could probably be turned around with someone different at the helm.
