I don't know about boards, but in 2002 there was a tank game that came out for the PS2 called "seek and destroy." Great game but from what I've seen, that's where a lot of tank speds got their start since it did throw in a few autistic elements. Not sure about any forums for it though. The timeline does match up however.
Tbf, I just said 2002 since it was 20 years ago and he be a teenager, but then you bring this shit up, and I remember why I love the Farms

Worse I think he's afraid of being asked, why so few sources for such a long video? I think the comb video really highlights this flaw of his to go full on funni Breadtuber Video Essay on the most trivial of topics. Compare the comb video to this video by Old Britannia, who focuses on 17th-19th century diplomacy, which covers 2 wars and how they effected the domestic politics and imperial policy of the UK:
And look at the sources 4 pretty thick books:
Screenshot_20230911_232018_YouTube.jpg
page counts from top to bottom
334 pages
536 pages
794 pages
408 pages
Now I don't want to claim OB used all ~2000 pages for a ten minute video that is ridiculous but merely to point out how well he summarizes and synthesizes his sources and how fast he gets to the main thesis of the video, that while victories the Anglo- Afghan/Zulu war undermined the Beaconsfield Tory government and did permanent damage to the British Empire.

Meanwhile Nicholas Moran, (The_Chieftain) an accredited historian with over 20 years of service as a tank driver in the US Army who had refuted some points on David's Sherman video, gave his opinion in the manner of an exhausted dad telling all parties to stop and live and let live.
I'm prob late on this cuz there's 4 pages but The Chieftain wasn't a tank driver. He was a tank Commander and then a Bradley Commander. And is still an officer (Major now, I think, or he might have got promoted to Lt Col recently, I can't remember) in the national guard. And he's Wargaming.net's (the world of tanks/planes(lol)/warships guys) North American historian. 20 years as a armored officer in the USNG would probably cover it.

Know of any boards from back then that fit the bill?
Apologies for multipost since I've yet to figure out how to add in quotes to an edit.
My guess would be the Relicnews forums when Company of Heroes was out. I was a semi-regular on there and it was the cesspits of cesspits. It was 90% wehraboos that would shout down anyone else. The mods were also the worst on the planet. A news post about a missing woman that ended up being found decapitated was closed because "Just another dead white girl". The collective screeching on that forums was so bad it made the game dev's community manager want to quit after a questionable patch was released. She did end up quitting shortly after.
CoH came out in 2006, for what it's worth.

The Pig mentions his "beef" with Peter Samsonov of TankArchives fame. Despite Samsonov being a stereotype by himself (the russian-speaker living in a Western country with a deep attachment for the Union) his works are quite solid and he did some good archival work. I'm quite curious if the Pig has some specific spergout on TankArchives content, it sounds like a match made in heaven.

This nigger looks like Jarbo. Are there more pictures of him besides the one with the soyface and lightsaber?
Well, since his more complete dox came out any ways like I said it would, you can find more on his facebook: https://www.facebook.com/david.steel.756 (https://ghostarchive.org/archive/qbIsF), since his instagram is private: https://www.instagram.com/ricewynd/

Behold a "gay man of the darker-skinned variety" in Scotland:

Very nice, mind if I ask which tool you're using? Always glad to add more to the toolset. Admittedly, after how easily I manually doxed him due to his abysmal opsec, I lost a bit of interest and forgot to run his information through the database checkers (outside of epieos) and my osint tools after life got in the way. The happydavid450@hotmail.com email was actually new to me though, great find.

A "ricewynd2" was selling model trains in Edinburgh on ebay at some point a few years ago:
https://grahamfarishngauge.com/graham_farish_n_gauge_landship_train_track.htm (https://archive.ph/GXTws)

He's a self-proclaimed Runescape forum celebrity: https://archive.ph/wip/GMS57

Also, he monitors the Farms, within 8 days of Amerikaner's intention to write the thread being announced, he was already requesting things he thought not archived to be deleted - like his Star Wars RP character biography: https://archive.ph/UF58G

One of my favorites is when he tried to pull a Sargon and imply he was black: https://archive.ph/2dgbg

Additionally, here's this vore site account for him, which is interesting because he claims to have a girlfriend two years after his supposed gay awakening: https://archive.ph/IbN7m

One thing I do want to address is that this previous doxing of him labels him a "gaypedo," while I have purposely avoided his discord, so I can't comment on that, I have not seen anything outside of this single instance of him being labeled as such and without further evidence, I'm just assuming it's another in what I am sure is a long line of persons pissed off from Second Life who hated him and went with whatever label they felt would be most damaging.

Instead of clicking on "reply" to a post, click on the "quote" button, when you go to the posting text box, you'll see "" Insert quotes..." right next to the "Attach files" button which will insert as many posts as you've quoted.

Nick Moran makes it very clear that his time as an armored officer has nothing to do with his abilities as a historian. Driving a M1 Abrams means nothing when you're talking about M4 Shermans in the French bocage, because if you're a good historian you're looking at available information and its context and your unrelated experiences might allow you to inform your analysis but they shouldn't be anywhere near the primary source. That's where the Pig fails as a "historian": the guy is so blinded by his NAFO memes he can't look at anything even remotely objectively.

(And he also knows how to drive the M1 and the Bradley. Pretty sure he started out as a M1 crewman, which means he started as the driver. As for the Bradley, you gotta learn how to operate the machine before you're allowed to command it. At least in the US army.)

Agreed. His obsession with femboys (who are traditionally underage) is creepy as fuck and definitely a red flag the size of Texas, but if you can't find evidence of wrongdoing beyond jilted lovers and former friends, then that's that.

I really don't get people like that. When I make a law claim, I provide evidence to some court case where you can read more about it and call me out if I am wrong or retarded. It not only helps to inform people more, but if I am wrong, I can get corrected and learn. If you use some source and do not provide it, it's always that either the source is shit, or you are afraid of being corrected. Pathetic.

You highlight the post to want to quote and press the quote button. You then insert the quote as a reply. Then click this:

Then this:

You should get something that looks like this:

You then copy the text, click on that "[ ]" button again to turn your post into normal, click edit on your comment, and paste the text in.

Nick "The Chieftain" Moran actually admits his limits. Even then, he actually goes out to museums and looks in tanks if you've ever seen his inside the hatch series. He's been in multiple Sherman's, fired their guns, which combined with his military experience, brings a good perspective on the equipment he's talking about. Even then, he wasn't in WW2. And because he admits that, his credibility goes thru the roof.

Pig has always come across as insecure if you listened hard enough. He deflects his lack of sources by calling it entertainment (even though his T-14 video has nearly 3 million views at this point and no doubt skewed many people's views, rant on the T-14 from my Welding perspective later), which if you call yourself a history channel, but then a entertainment channel EVERY time you're called out... I'm sorry, the furthest you can go is edutainment, and that is a thin line to tread

Or pigger says "I was drunk" like that is a normal thing we should ignore. If you are so addicted to alcohol that it makes you do retarded shit consistently, maybe you should lay off the bottle. Also reliable historians don't drink themselves to shit before making claims.

His drinking is another Lolcow worthy trait. This man drinks enough to not only go on Twitter rants he then nukes, no, he makes his videos piss drunk and admits it

Well said. I've learned more getting throughly trounced than I have by getting things right....although we only learn what's right via Trial & Error for the most part.

People with an inferiority complex or fragile ego treat being corrected as though someone is shit testing them. It's sad watching people voluntarily plateau their growth.

This fucking guy had so much potential to be a fun stupid YouTuber that made history entertainment videos. But instead he got into his fucking head that he is some Harvard level academic that should be at the British Museum. The funniest thing is that in every social science and bachelor of arts program in the western world they tell you immediately to cite your sources and plagiarism is a big deal and you have to cite your sources. But this faggot thinks he's beyond that because he's some faggot.

Go to the trash you.

Exactly. While I caution people against putting anyone on a pedestal because we're all humans and we all have our biases (and they are going to show eventually), The_Chieftain at least puts in the effort. Most importantly, he's also clearly comfortable in telling people he doesn't know something. His video on the Sentinel tank and his puzzlement at the vertical holes through the turret sides come to mind (imagine how long LP or other youtubers would spend speculating on it). And he's also in the habit of telling people when he's speculating or offering opinion, as opposed to relaying information from manuals. The phrases "it is my opinion that..." and "it's just speculation but..." should be common ones in the vernacular of anyone doing popular history.

LP's video is still causing damage as we speak. Any mention of the T-14 on social media will soon have his fans swarming all over it talking about how LazerPig did a video on the T-14 or repeating his idiotic arguments without an iota of critical thinking.

It's actually the reason his fat ass popped up on my radar. I'm generally quite happy to let morons be morons online, but when their fanbase is that fucking obnoxious that it starts interfering with other people? That's when I start paying attention.

It's sad, yes. But we should be thankful for it. That single personality trait has created the vast majority of lolcows and drama we have on this website. It's bad for them, but it's great entertainment for us.
