I know mechanics at dealerships. I've never heard them claim to "work at BMW" or "I work for Mazda".

The people I know who work at dealerships usually say something along the lines of "I work at BMW of Orange County" or "Ford of Nigtown" cause there are usually multiple dealerships in the same area.
