I picked up a copy of Lori's book. I'm not far enough in to say whether or not it's great, but it's definitely not bad!
With my preferred sci fi authors mostly aging out, slowing down, or going insane, I really did need to start adding some new authors to my reading list, and I think Lori may be a good start.

I'm having the same problem, so much sci-fi these days is bad that I end up just going back to the classics. The Expanse books weren't bad, quality could be a little variable but I enjoyed them for the most part.

So I finished Janeski's 'The Phoenix'. A little tropey in places, but pretty good.

Should I post a fuller review here, or in A&L?

Maybe most in A&L and link here? Personally I would enjoy a review. I read through a few chapters and it's really not bad.
