Sausage Party

I'm still baffled that tumbrinas would go to an R rated Seth Rogan comedy about sentient food, called "Sausage Party" for fucks sake, and be shocked that it isn't a safe, PC, comfortable space.

Short of blaring alarms with red strobe lights outside of each theater, screeching like the fire alarm from hell, how could it have put more warnings out?

But according to leaked synopsis the foods end up killing lots of (presumably cishet and definitely oppressor) people. Wouldn't that redeem the film a bit?

If you just killed people who get offended by things, nobody would be being offended. That would be optimal utility.
Which makes me question the lapses in "logic" with these people. If they feel like they want to get offended. Why even call yourself an SJW? It makes no sense when you think about it.

Also read about the animator thing. It sucks they were treated the way they were. And the production woes show in the film, according to some people from what I'm getting. This makes me wonder why they'd even want to get a studio like Nitrogen to begin with.

I think the correct term for that one is "hypocrites with :autism:x10"...

I was on board seeing the asspain, now I want to see Edward Norton playing (((Woody Allen)))

Finally watched the movie, thank you whoever posted that cam copy in the Tumblr subforum. Now I can definitively compare the script and the finished product.

They toned a lot of it down while ramping up other stuff while also adding in stuff that, frankly, made it worse, in my opinion. The atheism message was about as subtle as Zootopia's racism one. That is to say, as subtle as a fucking sledgehammer to the teeth.

Shit I actually found funny:

-Everytime Douche made a pun/food/item reference and the actual product would respond. Especially the queso bit.
-Actually quite a few of the actual puns were solid (like the "no way, Jose" joke about the tequila).
-The Hitler Sauerkraut calling Frank an intolerant piece of shit actually had me laugh out loud.

-For a thirty million dollar budget they clearly must have spent it all on music/rights and voice acting because holy SHIT the character designs and animation is just...ugly. It's not Foodfight! ugly, but it's just like a step above a cheap CGI Disney/Nick preschooler show ugly.
-The Meat Loaf references and the "Sgt. Pepper" Beatles visual joke were actually decent but I'm not sure how to feel about that. It seems like it's too clever for something this...overall juvenile.
-Seriously though every other word was a swear or an innuendo. I can appreciate a fuck and a dick joke as much as the next person but this was just goddamn excessive.
-For as much of the shit they cut and toned down...you would not believe how many obnoxious fucking Israel/Palestine Muslim/Jew jokes they still left in. I'm somehow not surprised but I'm still really disappointed.
-Douche forcibly sucking off the juicebox and everything with the used condom is still uncomfortably rapey. Like. It's not even good rape jokes that fall flat because the movie itself sucks, it's just...creepy.
-Douche's character being made into a roidraging gymrat/dudebro Hulk vampire thing was...not better, but somehow an improvement over the original script's character?
-WE GET IT, ROGEN, YOU SMOKE WEED. God I thought I was finally getting over my irrational hatred of stoners but no.
-...I hated the reference to the Marx Brothers in the flashback (that, interestingly, looked like it was ripping off John K's art style) to the Nazis exterminating the "juice"...mostly because Marx Brothers deserve better.
-They saved the food orgy for the last six minutes of the film. And it lasted three. It was store-wide. And I am going to be haunted by the vision of a bagel motorboat-eating flatbread's ass and also putting its balls on its face.
-I am also going to be haunted by the vision of Douche piloting the store manager by his testicles, Ratatouille-style.
-Druggie's death with the battleaxe was still super Deus Ex Machina-y. Also the fact that he looked a lot like a Jonah Hill stand-in of his own (while I think Jonah was voicing one of the hot dogs; I want to say Carl) and both got horribly murdered seems to be implying something but I don't know exactly what.
-The meta joke at the end was painfully unfunny and felt like the same kind of self-masturbatory meta that Tom Six inserted into his later two Human Centipedes.

Overall it's just more of Rogen's teenage fucklord-esque sense of humor revolving around sex, swearing, weed, and over the top violence. It's not something to burn in the streets...but it's still not GOOD.

Come on guys, is the animation bar in America really that fucking low? Disney's not even trying anymore since it's hopped on the reboot train, it's not like you have a lot to REALLY compete with.

I thought it was OK, but that could be because my expectations were so low because of the trailer and script draft.

I quite liked how politically incorrect it wasn't afraid to be and its visual style is good in places (fuck them for how they treated the animators though), but the plot did get a tad too predictable for me, even when disguised by vulgarity and food puns. Despite it being more polished in nearly every way, I don't think it'll be joining Food Fight in my DVD collection.

I watched it. It was alright, everything I expected from a Seth Rogan project.

Speaking of their crappy treatment of the animators, apparently an editor from Nitrogen had a chimpout. His name is NeoRutty:

we also have a date-rapist tequila bottle with a Cheech Marin-esque drawl (also Hader)
Literally did not happen. Not sure what the author's beef is with the Jewish character not played by a Jewish actor when the person responsible for the movie IS Jewish.

Of course someone who didn't put up with the injustice of Co-Director Tiernan would be the first to defend his BS.

Something tells me he's either a sock of Tiernan, completely ignorant, or just plain :autism: as fuck (and considering Nitrogen animated Thomas the Tank Engine before this, anything's possible).

8 Episode tv series / limited time event idk.
Trailer ends on a jurassic park reference....you bastards.
Who asked for this?
Seth and Co after his planned "adult animation boom." Which he hoped the original sausage party would kick off with the likes of Santa Inc didn't go according to plan.

I'm gonna say it hazbin/helluva is better than this crap...and this is about to be a contender for worst thing ever put on Amazon prime.

Thanks for reminding me this shit exists.

I fucking hate "adult" animation. It's always ALWAYS some bottom of the barrel "raunchy" comedy going sex sex swear sex that always seems designed to appeal to teenagers not adults.

Where are the adult animations where the subjects actually are adult? Like making a M rated sci-fi animation of some space war or something?
