So, Elon's SpaceX incentivized the privatization of US aerospace endeavors, leading to de-funding of NASA. It's been a while since anyone I know has really been excited about outer space. And who knows if his Starlink will "snow us in" with space junk.

Tesla was one of the first electric car companies to make cars that look like cars, yet he had to mess it up by not including something as basic as an ignition. Sure, there's no need for a literal ignition system as there's no engine to ignite, but there's definitely a battery powering an electrical system in an electrical vehicle... that can drain if it's not turned off. Unless you get an ignition interlock, you'll have no way of turning your own vehicle off without voiding your warranty, going into a bunch of menus, or just leaving it because the Tesla manual said it would turn off just fine.

And what did Elon do to Twitter except try to turn it into Parler?

Elon is the antichrist.

Elon is an automaker CEO and aerospace magnate who took on the cult-of-personality of a consumer electronics CEO.

Similar to how vape pen companies made themselves look like cool tech companies taking down Big Tobacco, even though Philip Morris owned several and their products were no more high-tech than a fucking Febreeze. Remember the Vegas loop? Those journalists seemed so excited about the convenient stations accessible by escalator. Yet something tells me they wouldn't react the same way to the New York City subway system. But instead of a convenient system of pantograph lines and larger cars hooked together, why not have a bunch of battery-operated vehicles in a single-file line?

And just as vapes are just another way of getting narcotics into your lungs/brain... Teslas are just another car. A different fuel source, but still an expense, a confinement, a maintenance trap, a parking ticket magnet, the D in DUI, an accessory to speeding, an excuse for the government to keep Geico in business, a death weapon that doubles as your own grave, another ticket to the anti-lottery that is motorism.

I don't know how they even got that shit signed off on without taking massive fucking bribes. So you have narrow ass underground tunnels with one-way traffic, and when I saw narrow, I mean it doesn't even look like there's walking space or access hatches or anything; and they're all filled with lithium-ion battery cars. I'm not saying I want it to happen, but just one a once in a lifetime event happens and one of those things catch fire; mass evacuation is going to be very difficult, as well as finding a way to put the fire out and hoping it doesn't do real structural damage... and Las Vegas gets monsoon conditions at least once a year in summer, and lithium-ion batteries aren't exactly friendly with water (and you're underground). Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't sign off on this, because one bad fire and God knows what it's gonna be like.

I know, I don't know if it was this thread or one of the A&H threads, but I had a sperg out about how he's not that smart and what he really needs is someone to tell him "No!" And it's not that he's not smart, as much as he just gets an idea and decides he wants it done, damn the consequences; and unfortunately, he has a cult of personality from the I Fucking Love Science crowd.

Starting next month, X's updated privacy policy will entitle it to collect some users' biometric data and other personal information.
Under the revised policy, which takes effect September 29, X (formerly known as Twitter) "may collect and use your biometric information for safety, security and identification purposes" so long as the user provides consent.
The biometric data collection is for X Premium users only, the company told CBS MoneyWatch when reached for further information.

"X will give the option to provide their Government ID, combined with a selfie, to add a verification layer. Biometric data may be extracted from both the Gov ID and the selfie image for matching purposes," the company said. "This will additionally help us tie, for those that choose, an account to a real person by processing their Government issued ID. This is to also help X fight impersonation attempts and make the platform more secure."


The microblogging platform does not define "biometric" in its policy, but the term generally refers to automated technologies — including facial recognition software, fingerprint taking, and palm and iris scanning — used for authenticating and verifying unique human body characteristics.

"The announcement is at least an acknowledgement that X will be doing what other social networks have already been doing in a more covert fashion," said Stephen Wicker, a professor at Cornell University and expert on data privacy,
X's move to collect biometric data comes after the website earlier this year introduced a subscription verification model that requires users to submit their government-approved identification to receive a blue checkmark on their accounts. The move is meant to curb bots and other fake accounts on the website, according to X.
The company also plans to gather information on users' jobs and education histories, the updated policy shows.
"We may collect and use your personal information (such as your employment history, educational history, employment preferences, skills and abilities, job search activity and engagement, and so on) to recommend potential jobs for you, to share with potential employers when you apply for a job, to enable employers to find potential candidates, and to show you more relevant advertising," the policy states.

I think he probably is genius level IQ but he's so autistic he's routinely doing socially retarded shit that sabotages his ventures. Less autistic or arrogant "genius millionaire" types know enough to have someone to rein in their wilder flights of fancy and save them this kind of embarrassment, but Musk is afraid of anyone capable of challenging his authority. He's like a smart Cartman with billions of dollars.

With a lot of that kind of rich guy their anchor to reality is their wives, but Musk is too intimidated by any woman who could fill that role to the point he's always picking feckless womenchildren who he can impress (until they grow out of his cult of ego).

It wasn't this, the problem was that like most government entities it was killed by weird fucks being diversity hired and wasting everyone's time screaming about diversity and homos. The benefit of Musk is that his shit doesn't have to necessarily care about that shit, so while they're still failing, they're not failing as exceptionally hard.
