Millionaire good doers as usual never pull a penny out of their pockets. when is null's birthday? I think we can get him that Adam Scott walk.
It is not worth it to sell yourself out for $500+ to $2,000+ for the sake of wanting to “hang out” with über privileged people that will not for broke for helping lesser than luxury screenwriters and directors create more “woke” content that no one watches or wants.

Seeing Bill Maher come back onto HBO without any writers will be interesting, since if I recall, he was getting mocked by both sides of the political spectrum for calling Donald Trump “stupid“ and a “criminal” on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Yet, he couldn’t actually name reasons as to why that were the case, except for the times that he saw it on the same mainstream media outlets that regurgitate the same things he talks about, but to his Generation X/older millennial audience.

Either way, it will be interesting to see how much he goes off the cuff, since all the other late night “comedians” are too busy doing a podcast with one another:

America This Week had a segment on this video.

Walter Kirn: So if John Oliver didn’t have an accent, you would not know at all who was talking on that thing. It’s shocking how similar the modulation and register of their voices is. I’ve listened to Strike Force 5 so that you don’t have to, and most of the suspense of the show is figuring out how to ID the speaker and then finding out that you did it wrong or right. And they not only know they sound alike, they’re making jokes about their interchangeability with that Jimmy joke at the beginning.

Matt Taibbi: Inadvertently, I don’t think they recognize the humor in it exactly.

Walter Kirn: And at one point on one of their shows, they talk about late night hosts as though it’s a class of Americans, like auto mechanics or it’s a profession. And when they do their repartee, there’s never any disagreement. They always laugh at each others’ jokes. You get the sense that they’ve completely forgotten there’s an audience whatsoever. It’s a very revealing artifact, Strike Force 5, because it shows you how long it’s been since they’ve heard adversarial voices or had to react to them.
Later they compare Trump to Andrew Dice Clay. Good episode.

I guess we could say they can't write themselves out of this one.
A comedy about writer's guild strike could be written down, WGA and company are writing this in real time. 130+ episodes guaranteed.

They're certainly written about, got to give them that one and into history books for people to have a cheap laugh or two.

I'm suggesting Flashgitz to do a little animation in their next stream, the duo takes piss out of Pedowood, shows that come out the come out that cesspit.

My question is: How long can this strike go on? If the strikers stretch their budgets to the limit. I would say 1 year at best.
I wonder that myself. I don't remember how long the 2007 WGA strike went, but it has some leverage due to the era it was from. The video-game VA strike that happened last time only sustained for barely half a year. The 2 worker strikes had one stop before it started, & the other either didn't even start, or just got cancelled under a week due to Biden economy.

Per a quick Google search, the ‘07 Strike was 99 Days. This shitshow is already well past that, and like you said - back then they had actual leverage.

This time, I wouldn’t be surprised if the studios wait them out entirely. These chucklefucks need the studios more than the studios need them.

Counter Argument - they’re in California, and these are people who generally speaking have never had to worry about money or working a real job. Budgeting is a foreign word to them, even if everything around them wasn’t hilariously overpriced.

I guess the actor's strike is over seeing how the person promoting the film is a member of SAG-AFTRA still not sure about the writters strike.
Late, but I do recognize and somewhat admire the way that everyone gets to wear the black tank-top; usually reserved for the ego director.

Although, if everyone is wearing it, it kind of defeats the purpose. Also lol at the fat midget black guy who has no business wearing one.

Good news, it might go much longer if Newsom signs this bill, and you know he will. Unemployment insurance is paid by the employers, so basically the studios will end up paying for this as part of higher unemployment insurance costs.

Newsom in the hot seat after California passes bill to give striking workers unemployment benefits

Striking workers in California, including writers and actors still picketing Hollywood studios, would be eligible for unemployment benefits under legislation state lawmakers passed on Thursday.

Gov. Gavin Newsom now faces a critical decision on whether to sign the bill into law and help provide financial relief to striking entertainment workers and other union members walking out during an era of rising tensions between labor and employers in California.

I know that Newsom really only cares about Hollywood and Silicon Valley, but this bill sounds downright evil when you consider that it could be applied to other businesses. It's extortion of the highest level, and you can see the union money poking out of his suit!

You're on strike. How do you meet the "searching for work" requirement?
In California, unemployment pay is $450 per week for a maximum of 26 weeks. To be eligible for unemployment, Californians have to meet other requirements such as conducting a reasonable effort to search for work.
