On the MDE subreddit he pitched the idea by asking what people thought of a MDE Big Brother where contestants would be subjected to various forms of torture in a haunted house. People posted their ideas for the show, and a lot of the stuff from that thread would be used when talking about Hell House through out the years. The project would turn into Fish Tank which was a watered down version of the original idea, but more practical and legal.

WP2 will be an embarrassing garbage - but it also doesn't mean it will bomb commercially. Sam never had this level of sycophants around him, so that should be considered as well.

The original Fast and Furious was actually a cool car movie yet it made SIGNIFICANTLY less money at the box office compared to any of the other 9 movies in that franchise.

My prediction is that WP2 will be a return to form for MDE. There has been tons of background information and behind the scene previews to see that they haven't spared any expense and everyone seems to be having a pretty good time with it. The sketch ideas are funny and edgy and leaves a lot of room for improv, which is what MDE has always done best.

The biggest risk with it is that it may come across as more of the same, like Sam's most recent standup, but I think there's plenty of room for more MDE. I don't think it will be forced at all. It just might not be as groundbreaking as MDE once seemed to the older fans. Although the stuff Sam did with HWD after WP is some of his greatest material ever. You aren't going to like it and should probably stick to zoom zoom race car movies.

They might have a hard time making money on this season of WP2 though. They don't have any distribution deals so it will probably depend on shilling gumroad or something. Can't say for sure yet but I think their strategy is just to regroup, rebuild an audience and then use that to make money from touring, streaming, etc. They've pretty much already been doing this. There was an arrangement with their "mystery backer" who put up a one million budget for WP2.

You're looking at it with a fan bias, it will be an unfunny bomb. You'll know how much it sucks when you realize half of Sam's sycophants call WP2 as "kinda liked it". That's when you'll realize it's forced, unorganic, moneygrab garbage.

Think of WP2 like the long awaited "Com98 vidya" that Sam announced years ago. I don't know if Sam ditched that idea or was it saved as a plan B for post-WP2 timeline as their last ditch effort to motivate the paypigs to "pitch in on the development of a vidya".

But it will be trashfire garbage, like WP2.

Spending a million dollars to make a sketch comedy show for an audience of no one without any distribution or any major backing of any kind, which will most likely be pretty quickly banned on almost all social media is a cash grab? Sounds retarded but ok.

These live streams are a blatant unapologetic cash grab. If Sam wanted money he could (and might) keep doing it forever. The reason why YouTube died and became so boring in the first place was because creators realized it's not worth the money to make high quality productions when they could make just doing live streams and reading chats. WP2 is the opposite of a cashgrab.

On Big Brother they have 4k cameras mounted throughout the house so they don't have to worry about camera crews interfering with the contestants. On Survivor the camera crew coordinates very hard to not ever appear on screen and they wear camouflage and other things to stay out of sight. On Fish Tank bicflame wears a bright yellow Mickey Mouse tie dye shirt standing directly in the middle of the action, with a camera six inches away from a contestants face. The edited Fishtank series is looking great.

They definitely over promised and under-delivered but the more egregious thing about Fishtank was how it became so much about Jet and how he couldn't stop involving himself in the show itself. The more time went on the more it felt like he wasn't even trying to limit his presence in the house, came off like he just wanted to be on camera. Sam going into the house as Goldstriker worked but Jet didn't contribute anything and 75-80% of the time he was in the house felt unnecessary.

This thread has gotten better over the years, the advent of Sam’s crew acting like total faggots help re-ground the discussion progressively.
