Walking distance for a normal walk is entirely different from walking distance to a hotel during a convention, furry or not. Costumes are heavy; fursuits more so. You're probably right, I didn't think of that possibility when I made the post. But it makes sense because if your suit makes it difficult to move around, a 15-minute shuttle drive would be super-inconvenient if you need to de-suit or change.
