A couple probable reasons given who he is, and no they aren't good, but I can see a lunatic like this seeing these as reasons:

1) Trophy: much like serial killers keeping hair, clothing items, and so on from their victims, but more retarded because he's not prevailing so it's a trophy to failure strictly speaking but let's put that aside, it's definitely a trend among those with his kind of bad-brains so I can see it being a reason, maybe not a completely conscious one though.

2) He actually thinks there's something in there which will allow him to prevail, though let's put aside the fact that even if he hadn't provided video evidence of him violating a court order he'd still be unable to use it to prevail in a court of law because using it as evidence would also be evidence of him violating the court order, again not a good reason but seems like it tacks with his particular brand of crazy.
