from what i remember reading of the original ethan ralph thread, same shit happened on dl.live too. he'd suddenly get 10k lemons at the end of the show. I'd swear its like he's fulfilling a contract that no one's leaked.

this does bring up a good question of why doesn't Ralph move to somewhere even cheaper in mexico. imagine him way down south with the indios. all he'd need to worry about is an internet connect and i'm sure he can just use satelite. he could truely act like king of a village then

Back when he had a truck and gas money the reason he didn’t is because he’s a scared little bitch who knows that the moment he leaves the expat paradise and heads into Real Mexico that the consequences for him getting caught out drunk talking shit in the street isn’t just an asswhoopin’ like in Portugal. It’s not even being kidnapped and having his fat little fingers chopped off one by one to send to relatives in order to convince them to pay the ransom because one look at The Gunt and the sicarios know there ain’t anyone in Estados Unidos willing to pay Jack Shit for Ralph’s safe return. No, what Gunt fears is Funkytown 2.0 and he’s right to fear it. He gets caught pulling his usual shit in the middle of the Plaza in Monterrey and that’s exactly what he’ll get.

Of course, now he’s stuck, no truck, can’t find a way to make a buck, so there’s no way out of Merida for him because he sure as shit can’t walk out. Because he got that Airbnb thanks to Pantsu’s account and he’s a dirtbag with sketchy prepaid cards and who knows what bank account. Since he had already been living their for months the current Airbnb owners was prob ok with letting him take over the lease, but he’s shit out of luck trying to scope out new Airbnb, Vrbo or Mexican equivalent without May.

Landlords are more willing to rent to families, but a fat, grubby American with an obvious drinking problem is not going to have much luck.

If Ralph spoke a bit of Spanish he could probably work out some cheap rental and circumvent the online rental platforms or residency requirements for local places, but he’s to stupid and if it comes to that he’s going to be in a rental that would make the Richmond crack shack look like a four star hotel.
