Okay I'm clearly not getting the basic concepts. DTRH was a high production exploration of interesting stuff in the history of the internet. There's no way the hambeasts who used to thirst after Sessshumaru are gonna listen to 45 minutes on an obscure medieval instrument because of yoai bait, right? Why a group, why the shared mythos? Is it gonna be a serial thing with a story? Are these characters or just a podcast with extra steps? What are they planning? Is this a vtube channel awesome situation?

Fredrik's past statements that DtRH was basically a liferaft to get him through a depressive period augured that he'd start moving away when an easier source of gratification came along. Like Spoony (a perfect comparison since Fred described his own video on Spoony as "self-reflective") his success was more like fleeting mania than purposeful construction.
I think that's an overlooked distinction. A content creator's underlying drive is going to adjudicate their productivity and endurance, and guys like Fredrik who use their content to get away from something else always burn up faster than the people who enjoy it for its own sake. Jim for example was fundamentally motivated by fun and it took asscancerAIDS to stop him.
