Doesn't really surprise me. You sort of see the same thing with anyone who goes to a liberal college. They start out posting cat pictures online then two years later it's "Die Cis Scum."
Weak willed individuals or those with problems in social situations do get taken advantage of. Freddy spent months or years in isolation due to the lockdowns and the only friends he made where furries who inevitably dragged him into their subculture, as they always do.
With Down the Rabbit Hole, The EVE video has taken over two years at this point and while he does have his furry friends show up in some posts, it's to discuss how the video is going, at least for now. There is a recent mention of his Vtuber status however. That will probably change after the video comes out.

The streaming angle means it's easier to produce content but you need to keep it free flowing and actually interact with chat like Jim does. You need enough content for however long you stream and then you read off superchats, which people will skip on a rewatch. I think it gets you money in the short time and while YT has been pushing for short videos, structured videos are still more interesting and get higher views overall than a free form stream. I have to question if Fred has the social skills to be able to handle a stream like that. He does have a good narrating voice and give him a script and he can make it dramatic. But free form streaming as a twink Vtuber is a different skill set I don't think he has. Thinking about it, it's actually the opposite of what alot of Twitch streamers do. Take Kitboga, Oboeshoes or even Critical Drinker with his open bar. They stream whatever they do but then they cut the stream to put into a video to upload to youtube. Freddy is going from structured content to streaming but even if he cuts his twink streams, it's a different fursona to his Down the Rabbit Hole series.

Did Knudsen ever release audiobooks on Patreon? I'm curious what he chose to read.

I followed Sam and his twitter, he left originally because he wanted to put college first and the channel was a distraction. I think he just jumped back into it with a newer vid recently, but is trying to remain detached and have it only be a fun thing, not a job which I can respect.
